Audi mirror signals for 09+ fx

I decided to do my own mirrors signals. I picked up set of A4 signal from the local Audi dealer for $49 each. Also got the set of mirrors covers from infinitipartsusa.com.

next step was to create template for the right fit.

I decided to have them stick out a bit so they can be visible from behind

next step was to make the signal fit and follow the fx mirrors curve.

A4 signals are about 80% same as fx. after 1h of bending them using heat gun and shaving some plastic i got perfect fit

first signal is ready to be mounted in the fx. one behind is still original A4

after getting $180 estimate on painting 2 covers i decided to do 3M carbon wrap

that's some quality work, can't wait to see it on a gen2 fx. have you seen all the angles being in the dark?
 
looking good I am in love with the carbon wrap, have to refrain myself from wanting to do the entire interior. but so far I have only did the shift panel and a few little pieces. the wrap is awesome good job.

that looks great, so cool that you were able to heat & bend the lights. now that you got the template you could even redo your white covers . the carbon fiber looks great & trendy & all, but it would look really slick to me with the stock mirror covers in white with those grafted in I think, awesome job

I agree, you should do the white ones!

I'm sure that I'm going to get tired of the CF look after a year. That's the cycle that i go trough. I endup redoing dual headlights on my 1gen after 10 months because i wasn't completely happy with the small AE :) but for now I'm going to work on headlights.
 
Great job, you are a talented person.
I think it would look better with the white mirrors though.
