Exhaust question

whazup guys i don't know if this question has been asked, but here you go. the fujitsubo leagalis r and the nismo S-tune exhaust are very close in design, does one out perform the other?

your only going to see so much performance from a bolt on exhaust. now a days the manufacturers are well aware of volumetric efficiency & design for maximum volumetric efficiency for the engine used right from the showroom floor, it's to there advantage for fuel economy & overall efficiency. after they have an optimal design then they may sacrifice a slight amount to decrease noise levels, but not all that much... there really isn't much room for improvement left, really replacing the exhaust is just going to shift the power band slightly, may add a few ponies up top while maybe trading off a little of the bottom end torque...

if you have no plans of forced induction or any other major mods like head work or cams or anything that is really going to increase the volumetric efficiency of the motor itself then choose the exhaust on the merits of construction & sound, your really not going to see much significant gains between one & the other really

+1 I heard this and that is the exact reason i went with HFC's on a stock exhaust first. Sound increased a little, i have felt more in the top end, dont think i lost anything in the bottom end and it still has that that nice stock exhaust look and sound to be low pro

what about headers

can i use a stillen header with stock exhaust, and get a deeper throatier sound and maybe gain a few ponies before i decide to change the exhaust?
