2010 Paddle Shifters

Hey Saleen:

What did you do with that fabric attached to the original lower steering column cover piece...? I don't think I can get it off of the original and reattach to the new cover piece...

Are you referring to the leather boot surrounding the upper and lower steering column?

Yes, exactly! I'm not worried about the upper, just the lower.

I'm pretty sure sits attached to there, but it does come off if you remove the steering column shells.

Hey don't you already have paddle shifters? I thought it was standard on the FX50.

Oh and you will be able to reattach it to the leather boot to the new piece. My 09 FX35 came with paddle shifters and it has the upper and lower leather boot attached to the steering column.

EDIT: Fixed. My kit arrived from Riverside last night after I posted and the new lower column cover piece in the kit has a boot riveted to it, the other end of which just snaps into the underside of the dash. Very simple.

No, they didn't come standard on the non-sport. We opted out of the sport package because of the summer performance tire hassle (we live in Colorado). Didn't want to have to buy another set of wheels and tires.

I think so, but I can't link to the pics yet (post count too low).

I purchased the jumper wires, but it is too fat to get into the factory socket :-(
Do you have a link of wire you purchased?

Did you remove the plastic part from the wire, but still leave the metal clump or remove metal clamp as well and simply put exposed wire into the socket? Can it be held on its own?

"On each of the jumper wires removed the shrink wrap to reveal the metal crimp. This crimp will be inserted to the harness so it can make contact with the prong when plugged back into the unit."

Where to get a jumper wire which will fit "like stock" to the harness and will lock into.

The jumper wire i purchased fit and locked in like stock after i removed the plastic and or shrink wrap. I bought my jumper wires at Frys Electronics.

Edit: and yes i left the metal crimp.

I don't have this store in my city at all. And not anywhere near.
Do they sell it in radio shack? or do you have a link for these jumper cables so I can order online?

Thanks

Here you go. Something very similar to what i bought. This is a 24 pack.....might wanna look for a smaller quantity.

Thanks I ordered. now i have an issue. How to remove the "switch" from the plastic cover. I mean the thing we push and pull to set up the position of the steerign wheel. "That circle part" doesn't want to be seperated from the plastic cover :-(

Any suggestions how to remove it so I can plug it in in new steering wheel cover?
