Man i tell you! you guys on the west coast got it made. these wheel shops on the east coast don't know shit! I got my h&r springs delivered from tirerack this week and i been looking for a shop to do the install. one shop wanted to charge me full price as if i was buying a whole new suspension setup. another shop won't do it because they are a franchise. So here is the kicker, i go back on line to tirerack to get a recommended installer, and i visit the shop this afternoon for an estimate on the install. the shop manager tells me since i'm going to lower the car i'm going to need a shorter strut to compinsate for the shorter spring. (WHAT)?!!! these people on the east coast don't have a @$%ing clue.

I went to a local mechanic who did a great job and did it fast. Never tried the "franchise" stores.

ya and they will probably re paint your old struts and charge you fot the "NEW SHORTER STRUTS"
You could rent a spring compressor and do it yourself----

!Viva la DIY revolucion!

Seriously though, I went through the same BS with my spring install then found MTN FX's diy page above. Unless you know somebody with a shop, do it yourself. It's about as difficult as changing the brake pads but a little more time consuming. You can also buy the spring compressor at any parts store.

Got my springs today from TireRack also. Gona install them with a member off the forum. Can't wait to install the springs. Try a local mechanic to install the springs. Those big name places always screw you around.

i installed my H&Rs like 2 days ago wasnt that difficult. the rear is cake but the front is a lil more work . make sure u can get a good spring compressor .

I just finish installing the H&R springs, KYB struts and shocks over the weekend using MTN FX DIY pages. His instructions is perfect. The only thing that really got me were the two big old bolts in the lower front. They are a pain to loosen. I ended slip the handle bar(tube) of the floor jack over a break bar to loosen the two bolts. As for the back, they're piece of cake. Again, spring compressor is a must. I got one from Harbor Freight for $40 and it works out well. Good luck.

Glad the write up helped, you will have to post some lowered pix.

i finally got the h&r springs on. A friend of my buddy's hooked me up, he own his own garge. he charge me $200. i just need the alignment know even though it feels pretty good. the ride feels much smoother and it seems to take bumps better. now on to the next mod which will probably be the strut tower brace and the rear tie brace and lateral brace.

Hum.....did he not hear you say you have a FX and not a Civic EX??? Knuckleheads I tell ya. I've got the same setup on my FX45, ended up cutting my front springs 1/2 coil to give it a bit of rake. As far as your alignment goes, that's a pretty good thing to do, but with my experience, I've logged close to 20K miles on my H&R and have very slight camber wear on my tires. It's not THAT bad....

Drop looks good Wiseguy, sorry that it took so long to get there.....Slight thread deviation, apologies in advance...That's a great shot ZC, where was it taken, Bellevue?

trouble adjusting

i'm having trouble adjusting to the new ride height. don't get me wrong i love the look and the smooth ride of the H&R springs, but i can't seem to get passed the feel of the height when i'm driving.
