What tires & size for my 24's?

It's been one long a** week trying to lock down what wheels to get and getting good pricing on them.. I finally think I'v gotten them locked down.. However, I'm having a nightmare with which tire sizes to get..

I'm getting 24" Gianelle Spidero 5's that are going to be black powder coated.. They are 24/9.5 front and back.. The size was my only option, so don't tell me I should have gotten the 10.5"...lol

They are telling me that I can only get tires in size 275-30-24.. Is that true?

Things that are important in the choice
1) Performance ( I drive fast )
2) I want as wide as possible in the back
3) I don't want to rub!

What's the 1st # stand for in 277/30/24? I know the 30 stands for the distance from the top of the wheel to the top of the tire right?

Thoughts?

I basically want my FX to look as bad a** as possible with that wheel choice.. I'll be sure to post a crap load of photos after I get them..I always appreciate your guys feedback...

I want my FX to look like the one in the pic below, but on a 2nd gen with 24's and a blacked out roof...

275=width of tire in mm. 30 is the aspect ratio, so I think that means the sidewall is 30% the size of the tread, so 82.5mm

That makes sense.. Now I know what they meant by being able to run 295/30/R24's in the back.. Thanks

Finish? You mean like shiny of flat? If so, what do you consider it being in that picture I posted? That's what I want...

Not sure about the tire sizes, but yeah that'll look sweet. What finish are you getting it powdercoated?

They kinda look like what I got on mine, which was textured black (my photo thread). I'm not 100% sure because they're not close ups. But it can also be satin black or low gloss black.

I'm running 285 30 24's. Aprx .4" taller than the stock tires on the FX50. I was pleasantly surprised with the ride. Not nearly as harsh as I thought it might be.
As far as speedo correction, the factory speedo seemed to read fast by a marginal amount. About 1-2%. The larger tire will compensate for that. No point in registering more km's than what I'm actually putting on.

You should be able to access these pics.

I think I liked the look of the wheels better without the black on the spokes. I've ordered the chrome center caps that eliminate the black overlay on the spokes. To me they don't look as large as 24" wheel should.

I called that shop this morning, those are available in machined black in a 22".. I wanted 22's of that wheel, nobody has them anywhere.. Everybody says they do, but then when you call they actually don't.. Thanks for the tease! lol

I talked to the guy also and he said he had them in machined black, suggested I run 22x9" all around to avoid rubbing, But I want staggered wheels though.

Interesting... I'v been all over the map on what I am going to do, then I got an interesting call about an hr ago.. Got an offer on brand new 24/9.5 front & back (I wanted staggered, but it's not an available option) w/ tires, black powder coated and delivered and installed direct from the manufacturer, for a price I couldn't turn down... It's gonna take a little over a week to get them machined to fit my FX w/ clearance for a big brake kit, and powder coated.. Looking forward to this whole thing being done and over with! Hope they look amazing after all this headache!
