Quick question, did they change the projectors or just the lenses on the FX, because i had the 04 and i could see really far now after recall i cant see a thing only wide and short distances.

I'm not sure what the changes were but for now, have you tried adjusting the headlight leveling? On the left hand side of the gauges there's a knob the goes from 0-3 (I think) At 0, the headlight beam is projected out the furthest. At 3, the beam is pointed lower. Check that first. After my recall swap, I didn't notice any changes in the beam pattern.

Yeah, the recall made the lights more dim. I think Nissan decided it was too bright, it's the same with the rear tail lights. There was a recall for that too.

I never paid that much attention to the pre-recall lights, but I know the ones I have now are a "cloudy" lens.

This should fix it:

I just never got around to doing this mod.

As far as not being being able to see as far, it would most likely be the headlight leveling feature. An adjustment to it should correct the distance.

Oh yes i have, even on the outside headlight adjustment-with the phillips, but not likr before-i might go to a infinit fx junkyard and get the old headlights- one flaw though the old ones fade your headlights with a yellow tint

But i think they must have changed the projectors to because the old ones were much narrower, now its wide and can only see far when im on a dark streer

i just got my fx today..!!!!!!
was wondering what year did they do the recall for the projectors???
mine is a 2007...i am planning to order clear lens for my first mod so yeah..thanks in advance!:tongue (2):

My deal gave me the brand new headlight when they did the recall. I noticed since I had some scratches on the headlight before the recall. After it was done, the headlight was brand-new

So with the FX-R clear lens upgrade, the light output should be cleaner and the cutoff line should appear more crisp and "blue" much like my fiance's Nissan Murano? I want to maintain stock 4300K bulbs, but would love the output color of the Murano, etc. Sorry if this is a newb question.

Info on Headlight Recall ?

My lenses are a little cloudy I have polished them out with good results but the cloudiness comes back in a short period of time. I was thinking about having mine swapped out under the recall exchange. So I have a couple of questions----

I see that some of you are saying that the new replacement headlights are dimmer. I talked with Andrew(TOY4X) and he was said he didn't think there was much difference. Any input from those that have done the exchange would be appreiciated.

Do they replace the entire Headlight assy?

I didn't see the Recall in TSB/Recall section does anyone have the recall notice and if so maybe we could post it in the TSB/Recall section.

MtnFx- they replace everything, the ballasts, bulbs and etc. IMO the old headlights projectors were not made for either Left hand drive or Right Hand drive. After the recall theres a significant notice on the cutoff line when pointed on a wall, plus the left side does NOT* illuminate light far, for safety reasons.. The old lights were brighter and bluer, the new headlights spread the light very wide and are much dimmer and display a yellowish hue. Another thing i noticed the old headlights use to get really hot, the new ones dont

^^ exactly what he said. My short take is that the front headlights and rear tail lights were too bright from when I talked to the service rep.

When I brought my car in, they "had" to do it.

I didn't mind, I got brand new head lights and tail lights, ballasts, bulbs, etc... After Marek worked on my headlights, they are awesome (spacer mod, reflector modification) and Morimoto bulbs.
