What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Wow, that's a long list and I bet the bill can get you 3 GTR wheels already. Surprise to hear your valve cover is leaky already. Is it on both side? Mind as well change out the spark plugs when you change the valve cover.

Comment from the tech was there is a slight leak on either side, nothing major but worth replacing this year.

Hopefully, you doing most of it yourself...

Unfortunately no heated garage and no end in sight for this winter to end so had to farm this one out.

Got the new wheels installed. 20x10.5" STR 607 all around w/ +35 offset front and +20 back. No pics yet because it doesn't look good as it sits. Need a 25mm spacer in front and 15mm spacer in back. It's more aggressive than my old 22"s, but the 275/40 tire runs a little small and is shorter in overall height. I miscalculated how much the smaller diameter tire would impact clearance and look, could have gone with 295 tires and still needed spacers. Need to drop the car some more, remove the second coilover spring collar in back and drop the front more. They almost look stock because there's so much camber they're tucked in. But they're very concave so I like that.

Upside is that they dropped some rotating weight, 63.2 lbs vs. 75.6 lbs for the 22"s (for the 22x9 in front). Back 22x10.5 with bigger tire was probably even heavier. So the steering feels much more responsive.

Nice. It'll be better if it adjusted shine more on the ground.

Yea I am playing with that idea, maybe moving the lights to the end of the mirror further from the car or just adding a smaller one there. But this is a good mimic of BMW/Lexus lights, except brighter. Also, light is much brighter on the ground in person and not as bright on the car. I think the camera focused too much on the shine on the door and not enough on the floor.

Yeah, I bought some LED and wanted to drill a hole at the outer bottom side of the side mirror, but just haven't got a chance to get to it. If you tab into the interior dome or map light, it should dims and delays too.

I got the bolt type LEDs from oznium and they are tapped into dome lights. They do dim and delay like you said. I wired them just as guys do puddle lights.

Sweet, thats one of the favorite features on my Lexus. I had found that the VLED 4 LED flank bulbs were the brightest. Here's a picture comparing the VLEDs to some generic ebay brand (non flank style)

Swapped stock VB in because Stillen VB had a solenoid go out apparently. Miss the crisp shifts a little, but I think I prefer the smooth shifts of OEM VB.

While I was waiting for the fluid to cool off so I could drop the pan, I put the spacers on the new wheels. 25mm up front and 15mm in rear so effective offsets are +10 up front and +5 in rear on 20x10.5" wheels. Ignore the ride height, I'm still playing with it and that pic was taken right after I had jacked it up. Final ride height should tuck the tires slightly.

That wheel/tire and suspension setup is killer. I like the mild stretch on the tires and combined with the drop, it looks awesome. Nice job!
