What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Hey Dave I say paint the calipers a metallic gold flake. I tried it on my G35 and it contrasts great with dark wheels like yours. Here is how it came out:

IMO, I wouldn't want to attract any attention to my stock calipers. If they're all rusty, I would spray it with gray or silver instead to give them a fresh look!

+1 on what Andy said. I say if you want, paint them but it will make the caliper stand out and look small. Since you have GTR's a bbk is a must.

That's what I meant to say. Both the calipers and rotors black

If I sprayed the whole rotor and then braked when it dried would that work or should I mask the hats?

...Mask the hats. That could possibly be the worst way of ruining a set of brake pads.

If you plan on eventually going BBK, then I would say leave it. It will serve as a reminder of what you want to achieve. (turbo did this with his exhaust, he never washed his exhaust tips in order to serve as a reminder that he had to change it.)

Black is the way to go Dave. I would mask the rotors where the pad makes contacts. Just rip out some garbage bags and masking tapes. It doesn't have to be perfect. Just so that you don't have paint all over the rotor surface. It should not add much more time to the prepping. I know there are people saying that, you can just let the brake pads rub and burn off, but I just don't like the idea.
