What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

I brought my FX to Orlando Infiniti to see if I could set a new world record for the cost of belt replacements at a 60k service. I think it was like $170. I let them do the oil change since I had their $24 coupon.

On the up-side, my stock cat is starting to make a noise when hot, so it looks like I might be getting a brand new factory exhaust under the 8yr/80k emissions warranty!

What kind of noise?

What kind of noise?

After maybe 15mins of stop-and-go driving (once the car is hot), I first noticed a metallic noise while accelerating between drive-thru restaurant windows because the cement wall to your left bounces the sound back. To replicate the issue, I gave the throttle a quick stab up to 2000rpms while parked and I can hear the metallic noise under the center of the car, both revving up and back down. It only happens with a quick stab, not gradual ramping up. The longer I've been driving, the more readily it makes the sound.

I suspect CAT internals, and so does Tuffy Muffler. Problem is they can't replicate it because they didn't listen to me when I brought it in and said "It's making the noise now, can I see the mechanic". They had me turn off the car and they did all their routine inspections first while it sat cooling off.

I picked up my cargo organizer and it quickly has come in handy

that would be a good race, how much pwr you think you are going to get @ the wheels???? the x6 is slightly quicker than 50 but thats with force induction

This is normal for metal contracting/expanding. I can hear even the new Infiniti cars do this even when warmed up just after 10 min.

Well the X6 is running about 400 - 410 HP at the crank ... but it has 600nm torque:eek.: ... it really does give a serious push! ... i have embrassed 350z's and g37's in drag races .... Im going to be running on low boost to help maintain my engine's life ...esimated HP at the crank is around 400 - 450 hp ... since my car is much lighter i am assuming that i will have the advantage right? .... + i am having a few transmission upgrades done for quicker shifting and im running a water meth kit .... yea i should post a video of the this race to come :tup:

what is the average 0-60 times for supercharged 1st gen FX's btw??

You should ask member Alenas. Hehe

LOL yea my car is peanuts compared to his build:laugh::laugh: .... im hoping that my car is in the low 5 second range ... who know it might reach that since im not buying the normal supercharger that comes with the kit ... im going for the larger vortech t-trim suprcharger with a larger greddy intercooler

I hear it all the time that living in Boston I should be wearing Boston hats. But I grew up in Queens NY so I will never wear a Boston hat lol

oh word! my younger brother grew up in queens went to st. johns, me and ny older brother grew up in the boogie down bronx! not too far from
yankee stadium so im a die hard fan. most people from queen rep the mets, but i understand they suck lol. good to know that u are a fellow new yorker..

Just got back from the mechanic .. Still arguing whether or not its worth paying an exrta 700$ for a Water meth kit .... I really wonderwhether or not its actually worth the trouble? Yea i know it prevents engine knock ... Yea i dunnooooooo what u guys think? Is this kit worth buying at 400-450 hp?
