will the 2nd gen. grille fit 1st gen??

The grille shown in the pic is one of a kind IM not sure if he'll even build another one...you just need to ask him
 
ha, that bmw I just replaced that right side quarter panel, fuel door not installed yet.


I wouldn't be able to build anything for anyone for a while, too many projects going on already

basically you need to cut the 09 grille bars to fit inside the outer part of the 1st gen grille. So basically, cut out the bars of the 1st gen, measure the widths, and cut the 09 bars accordingly...
of course it is a lot harder than it sounds....:tup:so good luck
 
it's hard because the cuts need to be extremely precise. in the end it needs to fit togeather as a 2 piece grille with one nesting in the other perfectly & all the cuts will show so it has to be perfect. keeping the original 09 black chrome finish & the original chrome finish of the surround undamaged is a big challenge. not really for a novice tbh
