did i get ripped? if i did what can i do about it please help

when i called back the sales man tried to tell him that he ripped me off
he said exactly " this is business" i dont know what he meant by that

i guess you did it the other way around instead of research first then decision. either just enjoy the ride and move on, or check any laws for any return option if any exists and if this is what you want to consider.

I paid about 27K for Pre-owned '06 FX35 w/33,000 miles... I added bumper-to-bumper warranty up to 2013 for 1,500K.

I agree with mrzorillanyc. I got my 05 for 24k. Plus I did have the same problems as your 06 during my purchase. Inifiniti's battery drain themselves when sitting up to long. Also the tires were bad on my also, I just bought some more. Here in Texas at wholesale dealerships they are letting FX's go for 17k to 22k, 05-08, imagine that.

Wow I stopped reading when I saw the price... wtf!? $36,00? Thats way toooooo high for an 06 fx35. 08 fx45's are going for that much and if so they have like 10,00 miles on them. Where the hell r u located and and what stealership is it cause there out of their mind:mad:

And for the record I paid 24,000 for my 05 fx45 w/29,658 miles on it in 2008. Bought it 20 days before it went out of warranty and had the dash replaced when I got the car because it was bubbling.... I'm sure there r cheaper fx's out there...

he means go F yourself. Damn i used to hear horror stories about people getting ripped by car salesmen back in the pre-internet days but wow its still happening. I bet that $36k was pre-tax? Back when i was shopping for my FX , $40k gets you a new FX from the dealer. Live n learn, if i was you i'd never do business w/ that dealership again, that fraud paperwork sounds suspicious...if you have any friends who are attorneys maybe you can have them write up a letter threatening lawsuit if they don't get that fraud stuff taken cared of professionally and in writing. At this point, just try and get that dealer to cough up as many freebies (oil changes ect.) as possible but don't give them a dime of your money ever again.

Morrey Nissan - Have you started working your way up the chain of command? Manager, GM, District manager.....Definitely don't work with the salesman at this point, he is worthless and he is done with you. Sorry man but this just sounds like a train wreck. Yeah, you can walk away but Morrey Nissan should be black listed as a dealer/reseller if they don't make this right for you on some level. Whether you pulled the trigger or not, the price is just too far out of market standards and it sounds like you were taken advantage of.

Price depends alot on location- in NJ that price is extremely high. Do some research on similar cars in your area- search autotrader- if you find the prices posted there are thousands lower than what you paid, print them and show them to the dealer. At least that way you can demonstrate that you were in fact overcharged. If they refuse to compensate you in any way, let them know that you will spread the word to friends and family about how you were treated. Most of all consider this a hard earned lesson- you'll be buying plenty of cars in the future.

You cannot just use the exchange rate to determine prices in Canada. It is a well known fact that cars are more expensive here. Prices on most things are higher here, and typically Canadians have a higher standard of living than Americans.

Did I mention that we are also taxed to death

Yes the price is also a little high for Canada but it is also low mileage, actually kilometres here

Well I was doing a pretty extensive search... this was about December/January time frame... Looking for an 06 fx45 at the time. It was just a thought though but I searched almost every day for a long time. There are about only... lets say 60-80 fx45 on sale in the nation. 35's... a lot more. I think maybe 16-1700 of em. Only 10% of the fx population are 45 and thats all years till 08. Now higher prices in certain locations.... I dont think so. Mostly all seemed logical for the mileage and the year. There were some cases where it will be a cheap 45 somewhere in a state that isnt that populated and they'll have a tad bit lower price. But not that much of a difference. But any 35 costing as much as a 45 w/ equivalent year and milage is just a flat out rip-off. What are some of the other prices for the 35's in your area and what r the prices of the 45's?

For 36,000.... when I was looking I could have gotten an 07 fx45 w/17,500 miles last December! Buying price 34,999

 I agree. My brother in Ottowa bought a small car ( Brand new Zuzuki) and it cost them $26K CAD.

Wow

Dude you got ripped indeed. I got my 06 Fx in sep of 09 it had 38,000 miles on it, with a clean title and extended warranty. My total was $24,595. Once again people need to shop around and do their home work. :.smile:

How hard is it to drive into the U.S purchase a car,and drive it back to Canada.

I know here in the states you could return that car within three business days if you changed your mind. It may be even 5 days i'm not sure. I don't know if they have such a thing in canada.

This is a great lesson for you.......always research market value of ANY product you purchase.....

You could have easily checked out craigslist or edmunds.com first

Very costly mistake and hopefully you will be more careful next time.

Is that dealer specific or by law?

I was about to type the same thing. On My350Z.com the Canadian owners frequently talk about how they have to pay thousands and thousands more for their cars than we do in the states. It blew my mind the first time I heard what they have to spend for the same car.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I hope it all works out for you.
