Purchase Date Question

I purchased an 08 FX35 less than a month ago from a used dealer. They purchased the vehicle through an auction and didnt have a CarFax report for the vehicle. I called the local Infiniti dealership and asked to provide me with the original purchase date of the vehicle so I would know how much time I have left on my warranty. Since the vehicle was not originally purchased there they could not provide me with any info on the vehicle. How can I find out this info without forkin out the 25-35 bucks for a car fax report???

Factory warranty is 4 years or 60k miles so you can go by those numbers and not the purchase date. But if you want to know more specifics about the vehicle then yo will need the car fax report.

Ask the dealership service advisor in person to print you a copy of the service history. As far as I know it should have the inception date on it and that will provide you with the information you need.

Mine was able to print about 10 pages on the FX45 I bought in Dallas and it was done in at a local Houston dealer.

Dealer was just being difficult- every dealer has access to the nationwide database and with the vin they can pull up all the history on the car.

+1 My dealer had car check db (something like that) but I wanted carfax. I shelled out the $$ and did the homework myself. The carfax matched what the dealer had. Carfax has a buyback guarantee stating that if they miss any important info that may alter your decision in the purchase they will buy the car from you.

Thanks for your imput. Called back and recieved a different person(guy not girl this time) He was very helpful and gave me the info I was looking for! The first lady was obviously being lazy....
