Is there an AWD button?

I was in the snow and my 06 FX45 performed miserably.
My wheels were full to the left but everytime I stepped on the gas lightly it drifted to the right, closer and closer to the snow wall. Had to go out and remove the snow on the ground by the tires.

Is there a button I have to press to activate the AWD? I see the "AWD" light at start up but don't know how to turn it on. Is it automatic?

I have the snow button as well. It just starts up slower/smoother. Like it's one gear too high.

I did not touch the VDC. Figured I would want that working in the snow.

Thanks for the replies. :)

Tires and snow button--IN awd without the snow button in the drive bias is to the rear and with it in the drive bias is 50/50 as well as adjusting throttle down. In snow mode the bias will revert to rear bias after around 19mph.

Yokohama Geolandars suck in the snow too FYI. While the tread life is damn near infinite, you take a big hit in other areas like snow, harshness and noise (very hard rubber IMO).

I've heard nothing but praise for Blizzaks if you want to go the two sets of wheels route and rock Blizzaks in the winter...
