Multi Audio-Video Switcher System

I want to be able to add some tv's in the headrest of my fx, so i can play DVD/ mp3/ and maybe add a gaming system like a ps3. I would also like to display video from the stock Info display Screen with out hacking things up to much. Ive Been looking around and came across this Navigation Multi Audio-Video Switcher System. This system has been around for a couple of years and its designed to work with ALL Infiniti/Nissan (require cutting Only 4 wires) and claims Quote »"system does not trickthe factory navigation system so it does not mess up any of the navigation/Rearview Camera functions. The GPS/Trip Computer/MPG/Time Travel/Fuel to Distance/etc will be working in the background when our system is on."
Its sounds great and is exactly what i'm looking for but has anyone dealt or seen this system in action?

I have my audio going through the headunit through the aux input I installed into the rear dvd function of the radio. I have an 05 without rear entertainment package btw.

I find this way useful because I can independently watch a movie with or without audio (i.e. listen to radio with movie video goin on), listen to a movie with or without video (i.e. when using nav), use the system like stock, etc. I have aux-in split between an aux jack and a wdtv under my passenger seat. To switch video modes between navtool and factory, I just press on a switch.

No problems with the rear camera and/or navi voice directions either. Rear backup camera signal supercedes any other video signal. Navi voice directions will cut into the movie audio just as if it was the radio.

I DO have slight alternator whine going on though. I have the navtool and wdtv hardwired to the cigarette lighter up front, and an aux input signal booster hardwired to the cigarette lighter in the back.

I'm still trying to figure out the root cause, but its cold and I don't like spending time in the car when its cold. So I will wait till spring to try and eliminate it.

yea i already know that. Its just a matter of finding where the bad ground point is (and from which device) and finding a new ground point (will probably require extending wires and such).

Its not that its a hard task, just not one I want to do in the cold. :rofl:
 
I've been searching, but can't seem to find the exact answer I'm looking for. I have the Avelectronics unit with the 4 input and 4 outputs that I'm trying to install. It's an older one that I picked up from a friend who got it from his friend who had it in an FX. So I have 2 questions. Everyone tells me that this unit will handle audio as the NavTV's won't. But do I still need to pick up a PAC NIS module? I'm thinking I do as otherwise there isn't a way to output the audio to the factory stereo.

2nd question is, has anyone installed one of these? I'm confused as to which wires to splice. I keep reading posts where they say you only need to cut 4 wires. But I'm seeing a lot more than 4 wires on mine that need to go somewhere. The instructions give me a basic diagram showing the navigation computer and navigation screen, but it's a bit unclear. The car is a daily driver so I have to get in and out with minimal downtime. I'd like to have a complete game plan before pulling everything out. Thanks.
