Which mods do you regret?

yes & no. the fogs are controlled with the bcm. the kpthingy is intercepting the low voltage control from the switch & independenty controlling the fogs. same can be done with relays & stuff, but much easier to just pop the kptech thing out of the package & follow the instructions than engineering & figuring it out for most. always have the option of wiring in your own high voltage switch yourself too, but to use the factory switch some sort of interface would def need to be built.

does anyone here regret installing spacers on wheels? cause i heard that because the wheel base becomes wider ,while driving, all the little stones come out form under the tires and scratch the painton your sides. is that true?

anyone regrets the plenum spacer mod? or thinks it was not worth the time and money?

That happenes when there arent spacers, get mud flaps

Should have went with 22s instead. I will swap them out when I find a good deal.

we are only talking about the front flaps right? i mean i dont care about the back... so if i wnat to do the spacers - i also need the front mudflaps..

Does anyone regret buying them or is there a good and bad brand?

I've heard bad things about LED lights inside the headlight assembly. Mainly the lack of longevity due to extreme heat. I think turbocad6 had the scoop on that one if I remember correctly...

No regrets yet...I'm only into all my mods @ $500 parts and labor. The HFC's are casuing something to rattle and added some in cabin noise. Some dyno mat, insulation felt should fix that.

You spent almost 10 grand on performance bolt-ons???

among other things...
Subs, speakers, wheels, electronic gizmos, all of my performance mods, the exhaust fiasco, getting stuff painted, etc. it all adds up very quickly, you would be surprised. I have the full list with prices if you want me to PM you
I could be tt by now

the rattle is the heatshield; same is happening to me

guess the truth is: any car/vehicle project can be a money pit. enjoy the ride.

if u are modding your rides in XBOX360 / PS3 games, it's no money pit there.

but dang, 10k... made me wonder.

Optimistic, Jordan! TT for a VQ engine is not so straight forward. Sure, the TT kit is around $7K and I'm sure you can find an installer for a couple more, but you still need to address fuel delivery, engine management and your transmission. Spending 10K might get you a TT, but other things will start breaking if you don't address them.

For me - $15K over the last two years for Springs, suspension braces, pulleys, BBK, Audio, transmission mods, intake, spacer & exhaust. I did all the work myself except for the transmission and audio work, so some of that was installation costs. There were also a few items that I had to repair/replace along the way. I track all this stuff on a spreadsheet.

ANOTHER $17K for a custom intercooled single turbo, engine management, fuel delivery & built engine (installation included).

I could have spent less on FI, but what good is a FI system if you can't use more than 400whp because you'll break engine internals or you will run into fuel delivery shortages? A better fuel pump & injectors would be the minimum. Engine management is needed to control the whole system - the OEM ECU has limitations that make tuning FI difficult (and more dangerous). These items are not usually part of a turbo kit.

Anybody thinking about FI needs to be realistic about it. Think about it like buying a new car. Drive your FX for as long as possible before going FI. When you do decide to go FI - do it right! You'll regret cutting corners and it would probably cost you more in the long run.

You're an animal. I'd pay to see the first teenager in an STI that gets his ass handed to him by the Laser Red FX from the fiery depths of hell...

Man I wish I would've just gotten a 45 instead of 35 and called it quits after tints.

Says the guy with the mother of all tuner cars and an infinite mod list...
