updates man? more pics please? I PMd you
I spoke with him a few month ago and he said, "but the ride is good, a lil stiff but handles like crazy."
Seems like an interesting route if you wanted to be different. I thought HKS coil overs were fully stainless, but I can't find where I read that anymore. That would be an added benefit.
Trued and tried BC and Megans seem to be the way to go though, especially because no modifications are needed (only rear bump stop for the HKS).
HKS is pretty pricey too.
true, but idk Im worried about long run reliability...yeah the BCs are doing well now, but how do I know that down the road I wont be spending 5 deposits of $95 to replace a bunch of parts plus reinstall, etc.....? IDK....
I also kinda wanted to see more pictures of his FX with the blacked out chrome trim because its something Im thinking of doing.and wanted to see how low he went with the stockers
Got it -- totally makes sense. Springs are shorter than FX's so they will sit lower at maximum height and what I read from this thread and Rookie's -- the shock/spring setup isn't optimal for the FX, but it works nonetheless.
HKS kit does look nice and after having the HKS exhaust with 0 issues where it seems others have had problems (Stillen, Invidia) -- minimal surface rust, no leaks, no noise, etc... I am sold on HKS quality.
Only issue -- where can you get these?

is the only place I've found.

yeah, not many places carry them and thats about the price they are anywhere ~2k Would I pay double the price for better quality/durability/reputable company? maybe. It seems like there arent too many issues with the BCs, but still unsure about megan/bc quality.. If no other problems come up by the time I order the BCs, then Ill go with BCs... I sitll want to see more pics of this guys FX and what settings the HKS coils are on, because honestly I would rather do HKS (unless the slight modding of the rubber thing means no factory HKS warranty) but apparently the HKS are based on murano spring rates? do you think they would really be that off compared to the FX spring rate on the BCs? Maybe I can order springs with a different spring rate to come with the HKS coils.... idk
HKS and BC both have locking collars, unlike the Megans. Having more adverse weather and harsh roads than California, that is important to me.
It took me 100k miles to change out my OEM suspension, so can I expect the same from BC or HKS? I don't know. I would buy for the HKS name and would pay double -- but the catch is that it's not specific to the FX.
BC is building quite the name and the pillow ball mount is the only thing that stopped me=) .
