The car won't start ! Please help!

so the Optima batteries fit w/o problems? what model # ? because one member said it wont fit due to the cable length.

There is a vehicle application list on their website. For the 04 FX35, they recommend a Yellow top D35 (8040-218) or a Red top 35 (8020-164). I have the D35 and it comes with a (roughly) 1" height adapter that I used under the battery. No stretching of cables whatsoever and the original battery securing bolts still work. Here's a pic of mine installed...

The yellow top is around 1" shorter than the OEM battery. I didn't have the height adapter. So I had to insert a piece of plastic adapter made by myself on the top of the battery in order to make the securing bolts work.
Mine is 05 model

Weird, I bought mine at Autozone as well and it came with the adapter stuck to the top... It doubles as a terminal protector prior to installation.

(This is not the D35 but the yellow portion under the battery is the same adapter)

I'm sure you could use anything that's around an inch tall and somewhat sturdy. It won't ever encounter any battery acid so it really doesn't even have to be made of plastic.

That is the adapter ?!! Now I know what happened. The guy who installed the battery for me just threw that "yellow top cover" away and told me it had nothing to do with the installation. And when we noticed the height problem there was a truck passing by and crushed the adapter(I didn't know that was the adapter until I saw your pic).

I am going right back to Autozone tomorrow~~~~~~~~

"Yellow top cover", that's funny. He obviously just made that up on the spot...
