HEY GUYS.....I DON'T MEAN TO BE REPEATING THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN BUT I WAS INTERESTED IN SOME MORE DETAILS ABOUT PEOPLE THAT HAVE DONE THIS INSTALL......I HOPE ROOKIE DOESN'T GET UPSET WITH ME FOR THIS.

I am interested in doing this to a (2004) Amber Display Bose Fitted Truck

I do understand that all this will be done after the amber display relocation....

-Someone asked if he had to Make any Mods to the bezel and this is what he said-

"The oem radio bezel was modded so it has a sort of hood. The 505 is fairly deep so the ducts had to be reformed a little. It didn't take much reforming, had to cut off a little metal brace thing they have back there too. Nothing crazy."

I had done a prefit using my spare dash board (didn't have my fx at the time) once I got my FX back the space was tight.

I am hoping that someone can give me or us a little more to exactly whats behind that factory Amber display. How tough is the mod that has to be done to add a hood or do you even really have to add one. If someone else has done this if they could add some pics and give explanation would be really nice....Is there alot of space back there.....how many inches is there to work with yall would say?

I was thinking about either the Alpine 505, Pioneer Avic-Z110BT or possibly the eclipse AVN726E depending on what i learn from you guys...Anything you guys can post will be great when it comes to even aftermarket NAVs or should I say multimedia double dins......Im sure yall can help me :glasses:

haha, they always used to yell at me for calling it a truck too  it ain't no car

for the dash it depends how much work you want to do in there, with minimal duct tweeking & taking a little brace out & cutting up the bezel a bit you should be able to get it in there, but like that, almost sticking out. with a lot more ductwork modifications & bracing alteration work you can fit way more there though, I have a 10.4" screen & a whole computer motherboard right there in my dash so it is possible to really get it way in there too, but to do more than what's shown there takes a lot more surgery, it'd be hard to get it deep enough to be flush recessed like the existing screen without a lot more work. what about something like alpines hub type system?, only need a seperate touchscreen there without all that double din head depth problem...

Both of Yall are the Masters.....

jbaker1121 man both of you guys have really sweet trucks.......i was think about the hub thing but I don't think it had ipod video....or bluetooth....yall correct me if I'm wrong....but what you guys are saying is if I go with the hub i won't have to do hardly any bezel moding?? Which Alpine screen could i use in there with the hub? Lemme know guys....

I would expect alpine to have these abilities, they do on even there older models, everything is a seperate module with alpine. also check out this guys install: ///8238

not the alpine, but similar in that it uses seperate screens that can be flush mounted. double din is going to be much harder to work with
