what should I order for brake job ?

I have the 2003 FX35,
I replaced the front brake pads with factory one before, but squeeze loud, the I replaced again with the after market.
I found the factory pads came without a metal sheet attached like the aftermarket pads, is it the reason making noise? but the after market is TOO soft !!

I'm think to change the pads back to the factory now..

what should I ordered to make the job good?
do I have to order the brake it or caliper kit with the pads? the website selling those also.. (infinitipartsusa.com)

while you did your brake job, what did you order? and where?

I've never had any problems with factory front pads squeaking. Maybe you installed it wrong? I actually like OEM pads for their longevity. I've used them for quite a long time.

I've recently tried Akebono ceramic pads and I think they are pretty nice pads. Once my 2nd set of OEM pads are done, I will swap them out for Akebono ceramic pads (I think it's called Akebono ProAct)

Hi, did you order and replaced the brake kit or caliper kit as well?
 
I just replaced pads. I have not replaced the calipers. In fact, I don't believe I've ever replaced calipers on any of my cars. I have a 2001 Honda Accord with 180k miles on it and the calipers work perfectly fine.

did you pay attention that the OEM pads did have the metal plate attached on the back? is that the brake kit?
 
The new OE pads I just installed had some new anti squeel tabs on them that weren't there before. They mate up to the new hardeware kit that has the shims and backing plates.The pads do not come with the hardware kit you have to order the hardware kit seperatly. When installing the pads you have to use some high temp silicone grease on both sides of the shim and at contact points to calipers.

I'm still wondering if I have to order the hardware kit to make the job completed. :embarrassed:

There was nothing else that I needed and I don't see what else you would need. I just purchased pads and rotors (if needed) and replace. Very straight forward install.
 
I think you're talking about the shim covers. The new pads don't come with shim covers because you're supposed to reuse the shim covers from the original brake pads (sometimes they stick to the pads so it takes some effort to pull it out). Anyway, I replaced my rotors and pads with aftermarket (rotorpros and Hawk pads) about a month ago and I didn't use the shim covers from the original pads because they didn't fit properly. My brakes are running fine.
