USA Spec PA15-NIS install

The PA15-NIS is truly a great product. I got mines from Amazon which isn't an authorized dealer so I didn't have the 1 year warranty. When I finished the installation the ipod says "FORD ok to disconnect" I called USA Spec to see what was wrong and they told me I have the wrong programming. Since I didn't have warranty they said I have to paid for shipping which was $6. I was glad I didn't get charged more. They were great to work with and their customer service is a 9/10. Got it back and worked like a charm!

The sound quality is definitely better than my fm transmitter. For those who have the left speaker problem when playing cd this is a very good solution. I have heard good quality music from both speaker before and man it was great!

Out of all the modes, I really wanted the steering wheel track up and down to work because I was always used to using that. The only way is to set the dip switch on the module to:

1-Doesn't matter (Depends if you have another audio source you want to connect to.
2-ON
3-ON
4-ON

To access it, instead of pressing the sat or preset button press CD and then the 6 preset button. This will give you control of the ipod manually, dash controls, and most importantly, the steering wheel track up and down will change tracks. The only backfire is there is no artist or song title on the screen but it's your music, you should know the name. For $120 it was a really good mod. Thanks for the write-up it did help if anyone else has questions about the install feel free to pm me.

I like the "folder mode" the best because it lets you flip through the playlist without looking down at your iPod. I admit that not being able to use the steering buttons is a big big downside.

And yes! It is a really great mod.

Thank you for your manual! I used it while installing this kit. My FX is a 2008 car, but anyway the install is almost the same!
Thank you!

Just curious where you routed the wire to and also when a call comes in does it come through the speakers? Thanks

You can't track up and down using the button on the steering wheel because? What is the difference if I buy this vs. the one sold Infiniti Parts USA for $201? I'm going to get this done, I'm tired of using the tape deck for my Nano haha. Hope the sound quality is better.

It's just how it is. I contacted the manufacturer and they said there is nothing they can do about it. It is a huge downside but you'll get used to it (i noticed myself using the dash buttons to skip even when I was listening to a CD). If it bothers you alot, you can always switch the adapter to other "modes" and you'll be able to control through the steering wheel. The downside of this is that you won't be able to read texts of the songs (If you have the SAT radio. If you don't, you'll have to use the mode that WILL let you control through the steering wheel)

I had to do the one time setup. In fact, I had the guy from the company I bought it from on the phone and he walked me through it step by step (same as the instructions). Basically setting the presets.

Man maybe it's just me but I can't seem to figure out the presets. The instruction manual is all sorts of screwy, it's telling me to set my dip switches to the chart on 3-2 but those are the settings for Playlist+direct and I'm looking for Folder+direct. May I ask what you have your dips set to? I tried calling the company but they told me to set my dips at 1 on, 2 off, 3 on, and 4 off. That doesn't really make any sense to me as seeing that dip #1 is only used as aux. Please help!!!! I'm dying trying to figure this damn thing out and my finger nails are falling off taking the connectors on and off again :(

Edit: finally got it working; gotta remember that search button ;)
