I'm interested in this mod, but I'm not sure if I have pre or post-recall projectors... What's the difference? Does the model year determine if there was a recall?

The recall happened in 2006. So all 2003-early 2006 FX were shipped with pre recall head and tail lights. If your dealer performed the recall then you now have post recall headlights.

where is the best place to get angel lights from?

For what it's worth, I bought mine from Koso Kustomz. I haven't installed them yet, though... I'm thinking about the lenses & want to do all of the lighting mods at the same time.

Just call the dealer and give them your vin. They'll tell you if the recall was performed on your FX (if it is prerecall year)

You really have to play around with both. I'd start with the bottom. Slight bending here and there, Marek tweaked mine for hours....

You can see this is a bit more evasive and not necessary, all you need to do is bend a little and keep trying it out.

I used the FX-R lenses and didnt touch any of the sheilds and my cutoff is nice and sharp with the blue purple at the top

sorry I had missed the question. I actually ordered 8 pairs of FX-R, mainly I had 5 local members who wanted to try this project. Still have 2 sets left for any local nyc'ers.

After having this project done today, I can agree its one of the best mod for the low cost (consider if it's DIY). Labor wise, on a scale 1 to 10(10 being most difficult), I guess this mod is a 7, prying out the oem project takes some creativity or new tools. I had to call on Turbocad to fab a new tool :rotfl:.

finally got some clear night shots with the FX-R lenses, ~6-7ft off the wall. No spacers to the projector/bulb and no modifications to the inner shields, stock oem 4300k temp bulbs:
