2003 FX35 - Speed Dependent Wiper Setting - Not Working

Hey guys,

I have just noticed there is a option of enable / disable Speed dependent Wiper in the Vehicle Electronics Setting in the FX. Took me 6 years to realized that.:embarrassed:

I have tried to play around with that and it seems to make no difference. I still need to adjustment the wiper speed via that Interval Knob (1-5 lvl). Driving on the highway and in the city makes no difference in terms of the wiper speed? Is that just my FX or others are experiencing the similar situation as well?

good question. I'm not sure what mine does. I remember on my old accord all it did would slow down the wiper interval to the longest setting when I would come to a light. The wipers had to be set to intermittent to work. maybe thats the case here as well.

Sounds like you guys need a visit to the dealer. Mine works as it should. When I come to a stop my wipers noticeably slow down on their own. :err:

Probably because your FX is 08.. I thought the 08 has the rain sensor?
I wish! No rain sensor until second gen in 09. I remember thinking to myself "How cool! The wipers slowed down!"

Then again, I may just be crazy and imagined the speed difference.

I think I've seen the speed difference on mine too. when you come to a stop the intermitent is longer, then when your back up to speed it's a bit shorter...

is the rain sensor standard? I have the speed dependent wiper set to on and I see absolutely no difference.

hmmm...... that's an interesting comment from a 09 owner.

Any chances of fixing that problem by replacing the vehicle speed sensor? It's nice to have that feature instead hearing my wiper creaking on the windshield when I slow down. Or am I just being too unsatisfied with my FX?

rain sensor wiper is not standard, need Tech-package for 09/10; Speed-sensing is standard, I want to know how it works too, have speed dependent wiper set to on, and I still have to manually adjust the speed, from stop to 50mph not notice difference.
