BIG "A" product review: Rim Wax by SmartWax

http://www.smartwax-usa.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=SW-RIMWAX

just wanted to give a little review of the product that ive used just a few times but plan to start using more of.

i applied the RimWax to a set of black powder coated wheels over the weekend & the results were really insane. it left the finish with a very nice shine, alot better than most other rim waxes on the market today. i will still use Rejex on wheels here in the shop but the RimWax by Smartwax gives the customers another great option.

Rejex will give your wheels a nice glow but i think the RimWax leaves a better shine. i dont know how long the RimWax will last but here is a line taken from the SmartWax website:

"The ultra-tough RimWax sealant protects wheels for months, preventing water spotting and staining from road contaminates and brake dust buildup."

to purchase RimWax by SmartWax
contact my friend & owner of Mobile-Addictions James

oh yea, i forgot to say...
you are going to love the grape smell that will run all up your nose. the product is light & creamy & easy to work with. remember to wash your rims first & dry them with a leaf blower before you apply the RimWax.

new review of Adams' Americana Paste Wax

adamsamericanapastewax.jpg

Serious About Wanting To Create A Head-turning Shine? Here's How To Be The Envy Of Everyone Who Sees Your Car! Guaranteed... Or Your Money Back!

Let's face it, there are dozens of great paint protection products out there. But that's not what we're talking about here, is it?

What we're talking about here is pure emotion. Yours! Oh, yeah, & the others who will be drooling over your shine. It's that instant envy that happens when you've got it, & they don't! That's what we're talking about.

Adam's Americana is a premium paste wax made right here in the good old USA. Make no mistake, though, because this is no ordinary car wax. Adam's Americana is a secret blend that's guaranteed to snap the other guys head back like an original Shelby 427 Cobra. Yep, this is the right stuff!

As you apply Adam's Americana, your senses are awash with the fine aroma of tropical flavors. So, go ahead & day dream a little about your favorite summertime experience on the beach, at the lake, or where ever it takes you. When you get back, the shine on your car will have you smiling all over again.

You And Your Car Deserve Adam's Americana!

Adam's Americana is made in very limited quantities by an American working man, for the American working man! Quantities are limited because Adam's Americana is a hand-crafted product, and the quality is second to none. Guaranteed!

1|8|2010 Adams Americana Paste Wax product update:

well it looks like adam has removed the fragrance from the product. my new container of americana resembes the scent of a dove soap bar. lost is the paradise-like-jimmy buffet-margaritaville-pina colada scent that filled the whole entire shop. it used to be fun using this product. i would imagine working on the car on the beach in miami with palm trees swaying in the background as hot girls walk, rollerblade & jogg in tight shorts on the boardwalk in front of the car. ahh the old americana used to put me in a tropical place!
the yellowish tint of wax is now milky white. i notice the wax is a little harder than before, making application take a little more time.

adams americana, i still love you for the excellent shine you leave the paint with, so wet, deep & crystal clear. im a little bit upset that you changed the forumula to a non-scenting-boring to use product!

i will continue to stock you on the shelf here in the shop with hopes of your delicious scent & funness to return to any future container that i order!

I promised a customer I would get the P21S 100% Carnauba Paste Wax so now its here.

Ive been reading great reviews for the Collinite #476S Super Double Coat Auto Wax so I decided to pick this up as well.

We now carry 4 different Collinite Waxes

1. Marque D'Elegance Limited Production Automobile Wax (paste form)
2. #845 Liquid Insulator Wax (liquid form)
3. #885 Special Heavy Duty Fleet Wax (paste form)
4. 476S Super Double Coat Auto Wax (paste form)

I have always been a big fan of the Collinite's waxes. The 476S is supposed to be the most durable one of them all, I'll see what kind of feedback I get from my customers. I've used the other 3 Collinite waxes but havent used the 476S just yet.

P21S is supposed to give the car a nice shine & be easy to work with (easy on, easy off)

Here is a little info on the 2 new waxes we just got in the shop:

P21S breaks the carnauba barrier with 100% Carnauba Paste Wax

How much carnauba would you like in your paste wax? 40%...50%...60%? At P21S, they always seek the ultimate result. The challenge was to overcome the tendency of high carnauba content waxes to be difficult to remove. And they did it! The result is a wax that provides the incredible hardness, gloss enhancement and protection of number one grade carnauba without the drudgery. In fact, it is as easy to use as any wax you have worked with! Fully compatible with the new scratch resistant clear coats and does not stain most rubber and plastics.

What you get with P21S 100% Carnauba Paste Wax

-Absolutely abrasive free so safe for modern water based, ceramic and nano technology paint systems.
-Extremely high total wax content.
-Contains no perfumes, dyes.
-Does not powder on rub out.
-Genuine #1 grade Carnauba only.
-Does not stain plastics or rubbers once cured
-Easy to rub out even in extremely hot and humid climate conditions.
-Offers the kind of longevity, weather, scuff, and detergent resistance only a pure carnauba wax system can provide.

Collinite Super Doublecoat Auto Wax (No. 476s)
One of the finest paste type auto waxes available. Easy to apply and absolutely DETERGENT PROOF. Collinite Super Doublecoat is guaranteed to outlast and outshine any other competitive auto wax, polish or protective coating under any conceivable condition. That's why it's called the PERMANENT AUTO WAX. No hard rubbing or buffing... and no special applicator is required.

Please, if there is a specific wax that you would like to see me have here in the shop let me know. Customers never ask me to use a specific compound or polish, it's the wax brand thats often requested & I want to be able to say "yea I have that".

-Andrew

p21s is awesome stuff, I think the best of the best when it comes to carnuba's... very expensive stuff too, but the clarity with a lot of layer build up is second to none. awesome stuff especially on some colors & some paints... almost never see a detailer use stuff like this, only elitist snobby high end detailers really who are doing high end cars exclusively & charging a fortune for there white glove treatment. nice that you have it. look how white it looks compared to the colinite, all other carnubas are yellow compared to this stuff

yeah, wow, I thought it was over 100 last time I checked? haven't used it in a few years though & no, not calling you a snob bro, far from it:tongue:

i think your talking about theyre wheel cleaner gel, its about $100 for a few gallons. its a complete waste of money for me to even buy that & use it in the shop lol.

nah, sorry bro, for a minute there I confused the p21s with Pinnacle Souverän which is what I was thinking about :shy: ever try that stuff?

I am in Minnesota and looking for a top of the line detailer like you. I have asked around but had no luck. I found a bunch of shops online but who know if they are good or a joke. I don't want to hand my baby over to anyone and risk getting a hack job. So my question is how do I determine if they are good or not. Should I ask any specific questions on product or technique? Their websites have no photos, which makes no sense. I was thinking of just going to the shop and checking out cars they are currently working on or see if they have photos at the shop. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

never tried the soveran but i have tried the pinnacle signature series II and loved it.

you cant just go by pics on a website. your best bet is asking some local friends or members of perhaps another forum you are on that has a regional section for your area. im sure you can find someone that does great work, comes with a great reputation, & has other members giving positive feedback on that shop or person doing the detailing. thats what i would do then i would surprise the guy or shop with a visit to see cars being worked on. also, speak with the owner or guy that runs the shop & pick his brain with lots of questions. you can tell if hes experienced or not based on how much he knows about the products, machines used & whatever little tricks he might tell you that hes picked up through the years.
i know when i speak to someone about detailing, they know right off the bat that i have lots of experience & knowledge of what im doing. sometimes i answer 1 question & then i just go on n on n on till i need to catch my breath.

your last option would be to fly me out there. if you can line me up with a bunch of cars, ill make the trip with one of my guys. im not sure what kind of budget you have but maybe you can get a group of people to split the traveling fees like airfare, hotel etc...

customer drives up from Philly to have his CLS55 AMG exterior detailed

thanks to Bimmerfest member BlaZinMJ3 Mike for making the trip from Philly to Queens, NY!
hell let me know when hes ready for me & johnny to come down there to detail his sisters & mothers cars & maybe a few others. were ready when he is!

i didn't mind mike hanging out all day while we worked on his car. he was a pretty cool customer, didn't really bother me to much =)

2006 Obsidian Black Metallic CLS55 AMG Fully Loaded

3M Perfect-It Ultrafine Machine Polish
6.5" & 4.0" blue pads on my Flex mini L 3403 VRG rotary

1Z Einszett Glanz Wax to seal the clear as a bottom coat (applied by hand)

2 layers of Collinite # 476S Super Double Coat Auto Wax (applied by hand)

i wanted to give the customer a great durable blanket of protection with an awsome shine as well.
this is his daily driver so nothing crazy was really done. the paint does need a more heavy 3 step compounding & polishing but for now this will get him through the rest of the winter & into early spring.

giving the customer more than what he asked for & going beyond his expectations to make him happy is what its all about. if it takes laying on the floor on top of a piece of cardboard just so i can hand polish his exhaust tips then thats what ill do. if i have to tooth pick, tooth brush & qtip every single crevice to make sure theres no polish or wax residue left behind then thats what ill do. if i have to polish the chrome by the trunk lock with a qtip then that's what ill do.

all glass was polished out with #000 extra fine steel wool.
head & tail lights were polished out.
Rejex was applied to all glass, lights, wheels & exhaust tip.

philly is a cool place! south st & market st are great places to visit for the day. lots of shopping, bars, hot chicks & jims cheesesteak as well! i have a hand built skateboard from nocturnal skate shop on 3rd & south & i have most of my tattoo work done by tony baris of body graphics tattoo on 4th & south. its going to be a fun 2 days hanging out in philly while detailing a few cars just having a blast & working away from the shop.

the car was finished later on in the day around 4pm so the sun wasn't out for me to capture any direct sunlight shots. it was a little cloudy out but i think you can get the idea of how deep & crystal clear the reflections are off the clear coat.

---------- Post added at 08:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:26 AM ----------

so we just finished up a very busy january & its already the 2nd of feb! just 26 more days left in the shortest month of the year. we are off to another hot start with 2 major paint correction jobs in the shop right now.
i have a 2005 black audi s4 that should be done in a few days. the paint is so bad, its getting a full compounding, polishing, sealing all done under 1000 watt halogen lighting.
right now juan is using a heavy duty clar bar on a 2001 white subaru 2.5 rs impreza. the car was in an accident and the hood, front bumper & drivers door were just repaintred. the rest of the car has no shine at all, it kind of looks as dull as whiteout with little black dot clear coat stains all over the place.
that car will be done after the s4 but i dont think ill have time to take pics & do a writeup for it.
thursday night a white audi a3 is being dropped off for a mild exterior detail also being done under 1000 watt halogen lighting. i hope i can have the a3 done on saturday, i dont want to work another sunday to finish up this car.

i need to get crackin on this s4 so ill check my private messages tomorrow morning right when i get in. if you need to get in touch with me to book an appointment, call the shop (718)445 - 9995

thanks everyone,

andrew

hopefully feb will go fast & march will be here before we even know it. march is one of the best months of the year because my 31st birthday falls on the 12th =(

customer feedback:
Let me sum up BIG "A" in a paragraph since i'm crazy busy here at the restaurant right now. First off, this guy made way out of is schedule to get me in since i'm only off on a sunday unless otherwise i take off for a week. His shop is located about 2 hours from where I live in a beautiful part of Queens, NYC. He is a good hard worker who REALLY pays attention to detail, i thought i was bad until i met him, he REALLY is a perfectionist. Now this is my daily so I was looking for a simple polish and wax to keep it solid throughout the rest of winter. He went beyond my expectations and got rid of 80% of scracthes as well(i bought the car used so it def had scratches i wasn't too fond of). His shop is well kept, his employee's are AWESOME and i even got to watch tv and play video games while waiting. I wont lie though I was usually over his shoulder learning his techniques. Thats def a positive that he was willing to teach me tips and give me hints on a good polish and wax. I reccomend Andrew and believe he has a fine business! thanks again!

Nice meeting you Andrew! Looking forward to some of your magic touch on my SRT/10. It will be great to have a pristine car again.

Hope you've had some luck with the local VCA guys. Apparently they're a bit touchy regarding who they allow to advertise. :rolleyes.:

See you after the next blizzard!:frown:

FX and Viper meet? I'm there! I need a wash desperately too!

I'll ask Andrew to give you a ring when I'm there in the spring and you can check it out. Can't wait for my Viper to look like new again!

city snake? whats going on scott? 100 views but none of the viper club members bothered to reply. its ok, i was going to bring my friend along as a sponsor on there too but i guess they dont need the money. ive had nobody call me from the site but thanks for trying to create a buzz for my work. maybe after i get my hands on your black viper then ill get a few of your viper buddies in the shop.

What can I say. I'm pretty pissed. The club politics and egos can get pretty childish. Sorry 'bout that!

Really looking forward to getting out there in the early spring. Damn snow!
