Ipod cord wont charge new gen ipods

hey i just realized today that the stock ipod cord for the 09's wont charge the new gen ipods, i was wondering if a replacement cord can be purchased yet?
 
There are a bunch of threads on this topic.

You can buy an adapter from the Apple site for like $30 bucks that makes it charge. I have it.

Easy.
 
a new member mention the 10 model of the fx comes with cable that can charge newer ipod/iphones. if the idea of an extra adapter doesn't please you (like me) I'm pretty sure the dealer will sell you an entire cable off the 10. its going to be pricey though coming from the stealership
 
I got mine at FutureShop, $30 I think.

I would definitely prefer to have the new cord though, the adaper doesn't lock in the bottom of the phone and it prone to disconnecting, especially if you use the phone while its plugged in.
