hi all , i have a intake kit on its way. i plan on doing the install is there any one with pics of their install in progress to help point out dos an donts i think it looks pretty straight forward but i dont want to over look something and make a noob mistake ... after removing the plastic shroud on the engine i should be able to get to the intake manifold ...now im lost as what to remove and what to leave ?

its literally 8 bolts I think it's very straightforward. just unplug your sensor, loosen the clamps, slip in the new intake, rebolt everything up
you guys are great ! thanx for the quick replies i wish some one had the install pics i dont understand if i use the rubber/silcone coupler straight to the intake manifold then the tube or what ? and whats with the hose clamps is there not a cleaner way to do it ?

well anyhow theres a rubber hose conecting to the factory air tube can any one tell me what this is and how come im not seeing it on any one else intake tube pics?

why did you choose to get an ebay intake kit :err:
sometimes they actually DECREASE performance...
should have gotten one that a lot of people on here have...stillen...fujita....LMS...etc because they are proven (though some ebay intakes are just fine)
as for the "tube" does it plug in with a clip to the intake tube? then its just the MAF sensor wiring.....it just looks like a tube because its insulated... the reason you dont see it is because it usually plugs in on the bottom, and if you got a quality intake tube then there should be a place for it to plug in correctly......

You are talking about a vacuum line. It's there on everybody's intake, but it usually connects under the intake tube so you can't see it. Don't let it scare you - you got it covered!
I think you will be fine with any intake kit, ebay or otherwise. It's not a very complicated system - a filter, something to hold the MAF, and a tube that connects to the throttle body (and the vacuum line). Extras might include mounting brackets or heat shields. Good seals and no air leaks is about the only performance requirement. I have the Stillen filter, but found a random 3' chrome tube and made it fit. Had the Stillen Z-tube before this one and my current, "generic" set up performs just as well, if not better. Good luck and definitely take pictures!

COngrats! I just ordered my intake too! Very excited. I got the Stillen + Z tube kit. Gonna drive to Costa Mesa this saturday to pick it up. Woo hoo! After watching jbaker's youtube video, had to get it.

you drive a luxury vehicle you couldn't splurge to buy a real intake? I mean with the 45 dollars you could have bought just the k&n filter and have been better off. but hey, if oyu want to buy cheap stuff for your FX be my guest. All im saying is this isnt a honda lol
