fighting the steering wheel

my fx has 20s and stock tires. I notice the car tends to follow the grooves on the road. I'm constantly fighting to keep it straight on certain roads. What causes this extreme condition..
is it the wide tires? supension? or just me?

It is most likely the suspension. People who are not used this usually ask this same question. You can look up many threads on this same question and I am sure you will find that there is nothing to worry about.

And welcome to :iS:!

is a normal thing for the FX.. it just fallow the grove and lines of the road.. is really messed up when you drive on a uneven road..

I found this to be the tires, especially if you have the OEM Eagles. Mine were worn out and this caused the car to really wander about the road. Just replaced the tires today with some Yokohama Paradas and the difference is night and day. New tires transformed the ride and comfort of my car tremendously. Just my 2 cents...

It actually felt just about the same to me... I don't know about night and day. Only thing I noticed when I changed tires was the road noise generated by the tires. It was quieter with new tires compared to the worn tires. The only difference i had in the steering feel was when I took off my front sway bar, but I might just be imagining things. I personally blame my steering wheel feel to my modifications

I just replace the OEM tire with the SPec x and boy there's a huge difference. I'm no longer fighting the steering wheel. With the OEM, I was always afraid of changing lanes on the freeway, because it always tries to dart away from me...

My 20" with RSAs does the same thing. I'm used to it now but my passengers sometimes freak out when I'm doing 70 and the car jerks to the guard rail on the highway. Too sad that all I can do is wait til the RSAs wear out (for a new set of tires).

i've got about 60% tread left also, discount tire quoted $700 for labor+parts for 20" yoko paradas w/ lifetime tire warranty, its a good deal but still, thats 7 bones that i dont exactly need to part with just yet.
