FX died.

I think since your FX still in warranty you are covered. I strongly you contact the infiniti headquarter and fax them the service record from the dealership and question those concerns and problems you have experienced.

I decided I would give Consumer Affairs a shot and called them yesterday. Regional manager is supposed to contact me by COB Monday. I'll give Infiniti a chance to make things right. I love the FX and nothing else out there really suits me like the FX does. I'll update when I can. Thanks for everyone's support.

sorry to hear about the problem....... 3rd time is a lemon strike, return that truck and get another 1. keep in mind; jdm cars are still better compared to the rest. good luck

Yeah man, get a new truck!

Make sure you tell them that you are a member on a well known infiniti FX forum. Tell them that all the experiences you have with the FX has been posted and the end result of this issue will greatly affect other people's confidence in FX series. You need to emphasize the fact that infiniti's responses will be posted on the web and exposed to everyone on the forum, including IS, infinitifx and infinitihelp.

If you still having problems, writing email to their headquarter and try to make the thing broadcast as much as possible.

That's what my buddy did with his Mercedez, the dealership end-up bought back his 1 year old S430.

Service advisor called this morning and my truck is ready  hehehe. they replaced the fuel pump under warranty. I guess the fact that its not the engine is a good thing. What is the typical lifespan of a fuel pump anyways?

Regional manager called me yesterday. I told her to either give me my money back or put me in a different car. Supposed to have a decision by the 26th.

What I'd really like for them to do is put me in a different FX. I would like to start this whole Infiniti experience over. What I bought was a 1 year old car with 20k miles. So I don't think its too much to ask for a 1yr old car with less than 45k miles, which is the point which my first motor was replaced. But I'm sure infiniti has an option C which is do nothing. So I'll just have to wait and see.

I got the FX back a week ago today. Dealer found the fuel pump was dead, so they replaced the fuel pump.

Now yesterday on the way home, the check engine light (Service engine soon, MIL, whatever you want to call it) came on. I yell profanities. The wife laughs. I just got back from Auto Zone and had them check the codes. Came up with code P0420 and P0430. Something to do with the cats in both banks. So I have called my SA and left a voice message because I don't know if this falls under warranty or not. I've also called the Regional Manager and left her a voice message letting her know my car will be going back to the dealer for service AGAIN. Also asked her if I need to submit a request in writing to Nissan North America for the repurchase/replacement request. Not sure if I even qualify since I bought the car used.

Definitely not going to keep this FX. That is for certain.

Wow bro.. I wouldn't like to keep it either. Those issues being happenning since you got it and it was under warranty when everything was happening soeven if you bought it used or not they should replace it for a new FX.. Or at least for one just like yours..

damn, sounds like you need a gallon of gasoline & a match :frown: sucks to have so many headaches, def a turn off to the vehicle... I had a bmw that was plauged with problem after problem, totally turned me off to bmw's in general...

Man..I can't believe your truck is giving u sooo many problems!

and I wonder if the original owner had any issues? 1yr old and 20k miles....probably not.

Yes, this experience is definitely turning me off to the brand as a whole. And depending on how infiniti handles this whole situation determines whether or not I buy another nissan/infiniti.

Sorry to hear about your problems man. I have a 03, over 100K miles, no real issues and I still love that get up and go, so if I had to guess, its just that FX.

Yeah, I am thinking its just MY FX. I see most of the people on here typically dont have many problems. My wife just wants to get rid of this car, but she has agreed that I can get another FX if thats what I really want (she really thinks something more in the lines of a tahoe is what we should get.. family-wise).

No Kim, you can't leave the family!

lol damn Stu, Thanks, but I'm not going anywhere. I've checked out the forums for the other vehicle I would consider getting... and well.. zzzZZZZzzzzZz.. So even if end up with something else,I'll still hang out here as long as i'm welcome
