Are you not worried about the clear coat? It just seems like you're polishing brake dust and specs of iron into your paint every time you polish with Zaino without using dawn/clay.

I could be wrong, and there's no evidence to back up either side of the argument, but what about just re-waxing with a synthetic wax instead of re-polishing with Zaino?

You could be right with that but I have clayed mid summer with my Ricardos Clay and I found next to nothing on the clay bar. I normally only clay at the start of the season, in the spring.
I wash my ride once a week and alwaysfollow up with the Z6 Detailing spray in between my Sealant applications. The Zaino Z2 is just a sealant not a polishing compound so you just lay a very thin coat on you do not rub or polish it in before you buff it off, so I don't think it removes any clear coat.

On the other hand you are 100% correct in stating some wax applications will give a deeper brighter shine.

I think it is just a matter of preference.

guys I'm never wax my any of my ride other than spray wax and spray sealant. Winter is approaching I want to stock up while there are deals going on. What kind of wax provides long last protection, the SHINE!!!, while easy for a noob like me to apply without swirling up the whole car?

I would recommend Chemical Guys M-seal. It's a sealant so it is very easy to apply and lasts about 3-5 months, depending on how you store/maintain your car. If you want extra shine or depth, you can put an extra coat of carnauba wax after the sealant has been cured (about 8~12 hours). Most waxes will only last from 2~6 weeks though.

I've also heard some good stuff about UPGP (Ultima Paint Guard Plus) both in terms of shine and durability. A bit expensive though, around $50 for 12oz.

The best tip for applying wax or sealant is to apply a thin, even coat. Some people think more is better and apply thick coats, but this can leave streaks especially on dark colored cars. With waxes and sealants, less is more. You can't leave swirls using wax/sealant unless your car is dirty when you're applying wax/sealant, so you don't need to worry about that. Just make sure your car is properly prepped (good wash & clay if possible).
