deciding what to get next

The Megan is only 145. You should probably shop around and check with my350z vendors. Oh and I'm not surprised about the Tanabe. I had a feeling it would be sold because people never update on there.

im not getting the cheapo megan that breaks:tonguey: i looked around everywhere. i'd rather buy new since my bad experience with the use nismo i have. i'm not getting the cheapest one out there jsut for the sake of having one, i'd rather get the motordyne, tanabe, or fujitsubo.

Motordyne the End

i agree, but im tying to measure it again the tanabe

Do you know the sizing on the MD? This is headed for fail if it doesn't line up well. And will it fit your AWD or will you have to pay even more money to get it to fit? You said you don't want to spend alot but you are to drop alot of money on such a small thing. Tony obviously did alot of research to make it the best but your only getting a few more ponies if even that. Now it's back to the whole spending alot of money for a little power thing.

Dude just because you bought a rusted out nismo doesn't mean used is bad. That was an error on your part. Did you not look at it first?

Are you even reading anything I have said? This is the fourth time now, it's only $145. And also like I said there were reported problems in the past but people say it's better now. Gsu_dy had no issues either. Just pick a y pipe with the right size piping and buy it. They are all pretty much the same.

I like the Motordyne b/c theirs is diff from the others and theres r&d to prove that it is the best design. I dot know much about the Ichiba, looks the same as all the others

so apparently the motordyne is the best design, but i couldnt find that many people that have it...., and will it even fit the fx with extending?

but some say go megan cuz it's cheap and hope it works.

like i'm not going to spend 175 on something that may give me problems and cost more money and time to fix that could have gone towards a better y-pipe

i wish i could find the kakumei

the ichiba is only $50 more than the megan how does it compare

It's pretty much the same. Another rebranded item. Top speed also does this. Companies get this generic y pipe, throw their brand on it, and raise the price accordingly. If you look at them, they weld a little metal plate with their name on it to the ypipe.
Something else to think about. If your nismo looks like it does now and you assume it was good quality, imagine that $300-400 ypipe. You could buy used cheap ones for $80 and replace every 6 months for 2 years before you go FI and pay about the same.
VMA is on, kanyes bout to blow it.

All are valid facts and in the end its your decision, just dont lose sleep over it. through and through the Motordyne is the best Great design,Great Support (IF somthing did go wrong) Fair Price (I havent looked anywhere besides their website for a price but it seems to be fairly priced given the cost of some of the others

Ok for the fifth time now, the Megan y pipe is $145 shipped.

OK
would you buy it and put it on your fx? knowing that people have had so many issues

i want something that actually performs nto just adds noise and looks shiny.

get me a link for the megan @ 145 shipped stu

I have it on my FX. I already said check with statik performance on my350z. Email whoever th guy is. I think Henry is his name. I swear you aren't reading my posts haha. If you get a new more expensive one, take good care of it resell it in two years when you go FI.

As far as performance. It's a n/a mod and a small one at that. Our ypipe isn't bad. Won't do as much as replacing the cats or something more restrictive. You really just need one that mates to the nismo mid better.

You know, instead of just trying to find an alternative (which looks like it will be more expensive) you could always wait until you find one, especially if your not driving your fx much at school.
Best way to mod right there. Wait for good deals to pop up.

Added the y with my exhaust because I needed a 3" OD collector.

what? lol

i'm trying to find an aftermarket one to best accompany my aftermarket catback nismo exhaust because the stock one is a tiny bit restrictive compared to aftermarket...
thhats why i'm trying to find one.....i'm not in a hurry im just doing all my research and looking and pricing now.....

i'm still sending my ecu out to get flashtuned though ;)

I understand, you said you wish you could find a kakumei, if this is true, why not wait until you find one instead of rushing into gettin something else. If you dont want a kakumei then I would probably go for a more expensive/higher quality pipe.
