2009 FX Lighting Specs (Bulbs)

Can anyone tell me if the HID kit that I need to buy requires the canbus or relay option?
or is it truly an H8 plug and play.

Hi,
This thread is kinda confusing. Is there an actual list for the 09 LEDS ?
i am ordering some other LEDS from Superbright. Are people happy with what they got from there ?

thanks

i bought D2s bulbs twice for my 2011 fx 8000k to match my fogs and they both flickered and shut off..im using my stock ballast someone help me figure this out!!!! appriciate it

You will need the following to stop the flickering. Very easy install will take you about 30 minutes to complete.
Xenon HID Conversion Kit Relay Wiring Harness.

Just do a search on ebay and prices range from 7-20 bucks. Happy modding.

Lastly, does it have to be 35w or can I grab a 55w kit?
sorry for all the newbie questions

I would go with the 35W, that is the OEM spec.

Great question, experts care to wade in and help us out? Saw an FX with interior LED's, I want that!

Thx,

Anyone know which bulb/kit is used to upgrade the mirror downward facing LEDs? Not sure if these are the "puddle lamps" but I assume they are. They look like LEDs on a rectangular circuit board.

Thanks!

Unfortunately those won't. The ones I'm referring to are under the external mirrors, in the little door you take off to tighten the mirrors. The LED is on a circuit board not in a snap in housing like those. Thanks though :)

Looking to replace a few bulbs on my '15 QX70S. I had white LEDs throughout on my former '06 FX but I think I'll keep the soft stock interior of the '15.
However, I want to replace the following:

(1) Xenon headlight - D2S - I think I will go with the Osram CBI again. I have it in my M3 and really like this bulb. Bright, pure white. Clean looks, great performance. Stock is a little too yellow, and I don't like blue.

(2) City Light / DRL - type 194 - I'd like a 5000K bulb. Brightness isn't a big deal. Thinking about these:

(3) License Plate / Registration - type 194 - I think I will go with a 5000K type again, medium-lumen LED. Should match the side mirror and front LEDs. I don't want them so bright they look aftermarket, so I am guessing 80lumen is okay.

Would appreciate confirmation of the bulb type/selection, given some of the inconsistency on page 1 and potential changes from 2009. Thanks!
Maybe some day I will add PIAA Ion Crystal fogs (H8).

Can somebody opine on the fitment/use of these bulbs? Figuring now I'll get 4 total, 2x for license plate lights and 2x for the city lights/DRLs.
At $55 I just want to double check. Thanks! :)

^ Thanks for that. I like TRS, have ordered from there before. I also have Morimoto HID foglights on my other car which I am happy with. Will give those a look (price is the same as the V-LEDs), but the reviews are mixed.

Ok on my 09 fx50s my drivers headlight second round bulb is not coming on. Is that H8 bulb that illuminates both round lights? I need some help with this one

I've been replacing interior bulbs on my '15 Sport. I had a bunch left over from converting my IPL interior lights.
So far I've replaced the following lights with these bulbs from Amazon (T10 wedge): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015H3KTYG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
-Driver/Passenger footwell
-Overhead front dome lights
-Rear seat overhead lights above either door
-Lower front door ground illumination lights

Since i have an all-black interior, I want nice, bright, white bulbs and these deliver. They're downright cheap too.

I used these for my IPL fogs and they're very bright as well so I'll most likely stick these in the QX. There also inexpensive and I've not had a single issue with them.

I'd like to do the city lights as they're really yellow. Not sure if they're the same as the bulbs I used in my IPL so I need to do a bit of research on those. Backup lights were also a great addition on the IPL and they make a big difference vs the stock bulbs. I'll update with part numbers and links when I purchase those.
