I just got my ECU back from TechnoSquare and reinstalled it. Immediately, I noticed my trip meters (in the instrument cluster) and radio presets were reset. Navigation addresses, fuel economy, trip meters on the nav screen are fine.

My seat memories are also erased and I cannot reprogram them. I figure my I-keys need to be reprogrammed by the dealer (I just had a problem with the seat memory function and they had to reprogram the I-keys two weeks ago). Did you guys with the TechnoSquare reflash also experience the same resetting of the radio, trip meters and memory seats? If the dealer reprograms my keys or do anything with the Consult II, can they accidentally undo what TechnoSquare just did?

Sorry, haven't had a chance to test-drive with the reflash and report back yet, but will do in a while.

Pretty sure you're supposed to disconnect battery which will reset all that stuff. Seat memory is a function of bcm, not ecm.

Whatever the dealer does minus another ecu reflash will not affect the TS reflash. I had a similar issue with my ikey after the reflash. Did you have another ecu in the fx while TS was working on the other one? That was the only time I had the ikey issue otherwise getting back your original ecu would not cause this. Either way you can have the dealer reprogram both keys or you can look in the DIY section cause I believe we have thread on reprogramming and have a stab at it youself.

I disconnected the battery before pulling the ECU. The FX stayed parked until I got the ECU back this morning (I didn't put in a different ECU...besides, I thought it wouldn't work unless the ECU was coded specifically for your vehicle). I'll have to read that thread again, b/c I thought later on it was determined that you couldn't reprogram the I-key yourself...of course it's worth a shot. What is BCM?

BCM is body control module. When Tadashi flashes an ecu he transfers the security from the old program to the new program.

I'll try the procedure to reprogram my keys tomorrow...it's too late and I'm too tired right now to have the coordination. :-)

Just went for a little test drive tonite after reinstalling the ECU and wow! Definitely notice a big difference in the low end. The throttle is noticeably touchier and the acceleration is quicker for sure. I'm happy with the reflash. I'm glad my brother talked me into doing it. He had it done for his Z4 M Coupe and thought it was worthwhile. I'm a believer now and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good power gain that's not too expensive, especially if you've already done some work to improve the breathing and exhaust.
