i just placed an order with my friend but i might reconsider, are the 8000k too bright? im having them installed on wednesday but i might reconsider switching to 6000k? the model is by prolumen slim hid ballast

6000K will have more lumens than 8000k. Basically you will be able to see further with 6000k bulbs than 8000k @ night. However 8000k is pretty blue compared to 6000 bright white w/ a hint of blue

here's some good reading

///16640&postcount=23

Kelvin VS. Lumens
3000K = 4000lu
4300K = 3200lu
6000K = 2900lu
8000K = 2450lu
10000K = 2200lu
12000K = 1800lu

So basically the higher the kelvin the less amount of visible light.

hmmm, i think i will switch it to 6000k bulbs and 6000k hid fogs, im going for that aftermarket look so hopefully it will be a noticeable difference, thanks for the response guys

Yeah man, u good gravy with the 8000k's, a little less brighter than the 6000k's, but being that u gonna have the fogs too u should b allright. And u already know ur going to kill them in da nightime. Enjoy!

Im not sure if its only the 2010 models that flash the yellow light in the headlight area when you lock the door, but anyone have a good color for that? ive seen blue but i dont think it would go with my car to much. Should i go with white? I was thinking getting 6000k headlights+fogs, and white leds all inside my car. Maybe i should get some random color like purple?

I always thought anything over 6000k is too blue and looks ricey. Just my $.02
