How to program Garage Door Opener:

1. Push "learn" or "train" button on your physical garage door opener.
2. Go inside and push homelink button all the way to the very left of your mirror.
3. Your garage door opener will flash
4. Let go of homelink button.
5. Push button again and it should open up door.

I just figured I would post this in case others, like me, were looking for the direction on how to program a roaming code garage door opener.

I believe there is a thread on this subject already but it was not a write-up but only a how to. Thanks for doing the write-up.

see your grounds keeper. usually the person who maintains the technical and engineering of your community has access to the gate's programing. If it's one of the new drives, it should have a learn button. Also, ask your management company if they have programable codes for the remote. if they say yes, that means you can program your home link with a remote.

It's my understanding that the remote for the gate is a fixed code and isn't a rolling code.

Unfortunately, the management company is less than helpful. I'll give it another try.

I still cant get mine to work. followed all the write ups. My garage door doesnt have a learn, or train switch. and my remotes are all aftermarket replacements. sux..

I think we are in the same boat. I ordered a new control for my opener. When I bought my house guess the forgot to leave the garage opener. I ordered a new remote. I'm just hoping it works and will let me program my homelink.

ok, so yesterday I was able to program the remote and it worked with the opener. So that helped out a lot. So I figured I would try and mess with the homelink and I did. So I got it to program, so my homelink opens my garage door now. Didn't think it would work with the old school remote with the toggle switches inside.

Thanks for all your help guys.

Wow that's cool Carlos. Glad to hear it worked out for you.

Yeah, same here. For some odd reason it didn't work yesterday, but this morning when I was leaving for work I pressed the button and it worked. Then I pulled out, pressed it again and it closed the garage and off to work in the rain.

So all is good now. Nice to have an attached garage during the rainy season.

I actually got mine to work, but killed my garage opener in the process. I found an original remote, not aftermarket and it programmed fine. I unlatched my door so that i wouldn't burn it out. Got home link programmed. re latched the door. Then it was down hill. opener started to wig out, and produced a different sound. would only open half way, then only a couple inches. The whole unit shut down. Couldn't figure out what the hell happened to it. Now, i have to reprogram the new unit, but haven't had time to sit down an fiddle with it.

Yeah, I was worried mine was not gonna work. But it worked fine this morning. I'll see how it works when I get home from work today.

Hello.

The system of Homelink works with frequencies from 399 to 283 mhz.

Lamentably for my, the European systems work with greater or smaller frequencies to this rank.

Somebody of you to know like being able to work for my?

Thank you.[FONT=&quot]

My garage door opener also started acting up it would start to go down and then stop and open back up. Turned out to be the safety feature that protects the door from closing on something . I found a down force adjustment screw on the garage door opener unit and after a couple of adjustments it works fine no problems since.
And just as a point of maintenance I oiled the drive chain and oiled the door travel wheels.(Make sure to wipe the chain off real good after oiling it or it will drip oil on your car.
