Thanks Doc...absolutely classic first video...LMAO... I showed my wife and we were in tears!!

Bert should get better after some lessons....a lot different than the Golf N Stuff huh Bert??

It was great fun guys we will do it again very soon. Thanks for the laughs and being a good sport Bert. You will definitely get better with practice and you were hitting it better towards the end of the day and remember we all were there at one time :wink:.

I am down for some golf... but I am somewhat of a golfing noob...and I don't have any gear.

Those are ok starter sets but I would get a set of better used clubs. The good thing about those starter sets though is that it comes with EVERYTHING (irons, woods, putter, bag). But I would look into a good used set of pings, taylor made, or callaway for beginners. Get a driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, 3 thru SW in irons and a putter. Clubs really don't get any worse with time. Just need to put on some new grips and your set to go. I would go to the local golf shop and try out some clubs to see what feels good to you. Ebay and craiglist has good deals if you know what you are looking for. Let me know if you need more advice Jeff.

Used Sets

Are the way to go! You should look into golfsmith and search for their used iron sets. You could find GREAT deals on preowned sets, and are usually in excellent condition with little wear.

For the bag, I'd go with cart bags with 14 way dividers, that way you won't have your clubs banging each other all the time when riding or walking.

Which range do you guys usually go to?? I'd like to go to the range with you guys sometime after work! Closest range to me is The Lakes in El Segundo for after work, otherwise Links or the Dominguez Hills range is good for me!

I used to own a set of these and hit JUST like the real ones, no joke, I actually still use the driver that's a clone of the TM R5. This set is great for starters http://www.pinemeadowgolf.com/golf-clubs/irons/excel.strong.irons wide sole, think of a tennis racket with oversized head vs. midsize head.

We don't get to go to the range together because we all reside in different parts of LA county. But Bert and Andy live close to one another and they can go together. This was out first golf outing but we will probably go again very soon as it was so much fun...as you can clearly see from the videos! :biggrin::laugh::laugh:
 
Was at goodwill today and found a taylormade r7 driver for $8.....Just need to find the rest. Even if I never use it, can't beat $8.
 
It was in great shape, barely used. I don't think I can play with one club...probably have a complete set in a couple months.
