Stock 20's black powder coat this weekend!

No Sir, do you see the pic of that wheel in the thread above, i bought those recently from a member here who had bought it from someone else. to the best of my belief they were not chrome. and they still look great.

with your wheels, you have to take the chrome off entirely and then start with powdercoating. you're better off looking for brushed aluminum wheels to powdercoat them, meanwhile you can sell your chrome wheels.

one more thing, Welcome to :iS:

yea thats what i was thinking...if my wheels wernt chrome im sure the powdercoat would stick better. thanks for all the help

You definitely can powder coat chrome rims, I have had it done before. They will media blast all the chrome off before they powder coat them.

for Tri-state area "EliteCoatingNY" they have a site and they are on the forum as well... had mine done Mirror Black and looks great and holding real good... they will sand blast any prior coats...talk to Herman.

after i had my rims done my ride is now a looker

most times when they do chrome they sand blast it enough to rough up the chrome & get good bite, but it is doubtful that there going to be able to remove all the chrome with just blasting... to remove all the chrome requires a chrome tank & chemical bath similar to chrome plating, but just reversed electrical ion flow... it's always better to start out with un-chromed if you have the choice
