since i bought the fx i wanted to remove the orange signal in the headlight because i hate orange signals veryyy much  so i wanted to open the headlights.. i went to alot of shops and they all told me that u could do it but in winter water leaks will occur and they wont be bright:sad:.. they all said that no matter what u do u cant close the headlight 100%.. i dont want to tint it i just want a bright white headlight.. does any1 has an idea? any body opened a headlight nd ddnt face problems in the future??

mine were opened and do not leak, you could always add extra sealant if you are worried.

can u tell me the method u used to open and close them plz ? thnk u
i want to get rid of that orange signal:rofl:

why don't you just change out the orange turn signal bulb to one of the chrome or clear color bulbs that turn orange only when you use it.

im gona change the bulb but the thing making the headlight ugly is the orange plastic cover on the headlight corner..

Ah you are referring to the side marker. I thought you were but got confused when you said "orange signal". Anyways, many people on the scene have opened up their headlight housing with no problems and some have replace the orange side marker with clear or smoked color ones.

thnks alot J3FF3R$0N.. ill see if ill have the courage to oven them :S but my main concern is closing them . i ddnt understand how by heating them again i close them..

heat gun works ok prolly slower than oven baked goodness but it works... wear gloves thme sh!ts get hot, trust me

i guess im going to buy a heat gun and gloves .. i hope it works because if i ruined it my parents are going to put them in my A$$ if i tell them give me money  hopefully ill get a job so i can get some courage and $.. thanx alotttttttt J3FF3R$0N for the help:.smile::tup::tup:

It helps to have a 2nd set, it not a quick job to take them off the car you need to drop the bumper to get them out then seperate them and do whatever your gonna do inside, then put it all back

plus there are no clear side markers even made for the first gen fx's, so up till now you will have to make your own, many have done this out of clear material available in like a hardware store or something, just cut out the shape & stick them in there, but the end results look like something that's cut out from a hardware store or something too:tongue:

I hate the home depot look personally & don't want to use that in my headlights at all, but many want clear reflectors anyway so I'm working on making real deal direct replacement clear reflectors for the first gen fx's for a batch of headlights I'm building, should have extras available some time in the pretty near future, just trying to perfect them as much as possible first & then all the first ones will go towards my headlights first... but after that they will probably be available. heres a teaser sample shot:

this is not the final product, still working on getting it clearer & crisper & all perfect looking... they should wind up being an exact duplicate of the ambers, only clear, & should still be somewhat reflective too...

I did it !!
