:tongue:My 05 FX35 either has a brake engaging problem or transmission problem. When you crank up and pull off my tranny goes through all gears fine but after stopping, it fills as my fx is taking off in 2nd or 3rd gear, or something is not allowing my breaks to release. My "engine service soon" light came on around the same time i started having these issue's.

The reason I believe its a break issue is, everytime I kill the engine and start it back up, it drives fine until i use the breaks.

Does anyone know what the OEM code P1757 is?:tongue:

I took fx35 for a short ride. On a incline hill, I stopped and tried to start again. My fx felt if the brakes were engaged or tranny 1st gear has little pull. On the incline hill and fx in drive I was at a stand still position, I went from drive to neutral and my fx begun to roll backwards. Turned engine off and back on and she pulled and cycled through gears as designed. I never reached a speed above 50mph so my tranny never cycled past 4th gear.
If my fx35 tranny wont pull properly then all I half to do is turn off and back on and my tranny cycles correct.
Does anyone know what could cause this?

He's looking for P1757 MTN FX. Normally I would recommend Helpforcars.net but in this case they don't seem to have any information. Infinitihelp has the code listed but without any additional information.

P1757 - Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Valve

Whoops that being the case I found two answers for code P1757--

1757 --Transmission control pressure not equal to target. (Zero pressure problem)
1757 --Shift Solenoid B Circuit Short

Thanks for all the help!

Thanks for all the help! I am going to take it to shop in the morning. I will keep everyone updated for this issue. What a great thread!

Mtn FX - Where did you find the information?

I did a search but now I can't find the site I pulled the info from. I couldn't find FX specific P1757 code info but here are a couple of links with general P1757 info:

P1757 GOV Press Not Equal To Target @ 15-20 PSI

This was a similar problem with P1757 code on an xtera

I couldn't find a definitive answer for FX-- P1757 code you will probably need to check with dealer.

need a tranny :) could also be from debris inside your valve body or a bad solenoid inside the VB, have seen a corroded pin cause havoc when I was at Nissan, 2 trannies, a TCM, an ECM, and eventually a harness, and what do you know a corroded pin... good laughs, but slammed during warranty audit :(

I am going through this now. I guess I have to have the transmission rebuilt

Someone said i may not have to rebuild tranny, but just change the valve body. The solenoid is part of the valve body. Can anyone confirm this info? I need anything to save some money.

The solenoid is on the valve body. I know you have a bigger expense in front of you, but while the tranny is open up, why not add the trangso shift kit into the valve body for some added fun when she all fixed up.

shadow191 might have a spare valve body hanging around.

Haha, I do have one on a shelf, but I may be experiencing something similar to these guys. I have no codes, but sometimes from a roll, my FX feels sluggish and this morning, I came to a hard stop and immediately got back on the gas (light turned green) so no pause. Car revved for a second like I had a high stall TC then went. And sometimes when I'm shifting from reverse to drive, it takes a couple of seconds to engage. Weird thing is it did this with the old valve body too. It's more apparent when cold, and it's still very intermittent, like once a week. I did see that I added too much fluid when I put new VB in (like 3/4" above full). I put in 6 quarts since that's what everyone was saying was needed. Guess I didn't lose as much as others did. So I'm going to drain some when I install a tranny cooler and see if that helps at all. I've seen some people say that too much fluid can cause some similar symptoms.
