Auto-manual, or Auto?

I use the auto manual feature all the time, being a former manual driver, there is nothing like going through the gears. Besides the sounds, being able to shift the cars weight and direction by using the rpm power band is what makes it so fun. But is auto/manual good for the trans? Should i be driving in auto, sometimes?

I made a thread about this once, alot of members here use the tip w/o problems. I however experience a slight bump going from 2nd to 3rd.. Which I adressed here as well, and some also have this..

There are should be no issues with the trans using strictly manumatic as it was designed for this purpose. There are also safely features built in to the computer that limits downshifting within high rpms.

Cool, have you seen that stillen valve body upgrade for the auto/manny? Its supposed to make the shifting better, and handle more power. but you have to send your core.

I get the bump too.... especially when slowing down... I would say from 3rd to 2nd... but I DO use the sports shifting, I'd say 80% of the time.

aggressive driving will always consume more fuel, assuming your driving aggressively while in manual then yeah, burn more gas for sure... one of the biggest complaints I've heard from the paddle shifters really

yeah, figures. I like how my exhaust sounds on manual mode. Makes me hit the gas moer and more. hahaha

I've gotten used the tranny enough where I can shift it smoothly. I've noticed it gets that bump more if you lift off the gas and shift. If you shift sooner, and keep the same amount of throttle, it's alot smoother.

I use manual mode all the time, my wife uses auto. Keep trying to get her to convert. Wish I had the downshift rev match that the later models have though.

but has anyone had the AMT valve body upgrade from stillen?

One of our members here did a vb upgrade from stillen and he was pleased with it. I did mine with lvl10 and I really enjoy mine. There are many services for this out there.

does the FX35 run harder on manualmatic or auto ? just wondering sometimes it kinda feels like it throws u in ur seat more on just auto with vdc off .
