i will be getting 18"rims and trying to find a set of michelin pilot alpins that will fit.

to tell the truth I had alpins on my 08 G37S and loved them. Then When i got my 09 G37S i went with blizzacks. hate them they suck. I will be putting alpins back on both my rides this winter and tossing the blizzacks.

I will be going with Blizzaks again, I have run them on my last 3 vehicles and they performed like a champ in ice and snow.

I won't be going over 140km/h in winter anyways lol thanks for heads up

I think both are a great tire (I have both). Depending on what your primary use for them, you're almost best off getting whatever you can get cheaper since they're really similar.

I would say both tires are great, where Hankook beats the Blizzak in highway driving and the Blizzak beats the Hankook on ice. In snow, they're both the same.

They are both far better than all-seasons in the winter, so I really can't find a fault in either. When my winter tires wear out, I'd buy whatever is cheaper at the time of purchase, but I do have a bias towards Hankook.

its all about hankook and blizzak... no one backing up the yokohama geolandar I/T here?
it's the cheapest one i can get out of those 3... should i still go for the cheaper? I mean how bad could those tires be?

How much of a price difference are we talking about? Remember the saying, "you get what you pay for". I'd probably go by the recommendations of the forum members that have had first hand experience with a product you're considering.

What kind of winter driving are you looking for? That will help narrow it down.

Just get whatever is cheapest, they're all well known brands. I chose my winter tires based on the type of snow I get and how often the snow plowers come.

In 265/60/18, you can also get
Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3
Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow
Toyo Open Country G-02 plus

I have the Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 on my BMW and I chose those for more spirited driving on not so deep snow -- but don't get me wrong, they are awesome in deep snow too.

Pirelli is more of a highway-only snow tire, and you can tell from the tread pattern. But it's a Pirelli -- can't go wrong with these.

I ended up with the new DM-V1 Blizzak in 265/60/18.
I'm mounting them on my OEM 18s for winter and will run my 20" Enkeis for summer

Try the Hankooks

I got some black painted Enkei 18s and a set of Hankook I-Pike RW11s from DiscountTire Direct for my FX50 a couple of weeks ago, and got them on just before 18 inches of wet snow. Great so far in deep snow, and good ice braking. I've only got about 500 miles so far, but I like 'em! For tires and wheels under $1,100, I think I can live with them for 5-6 months a year!

no i will never put blizzacks on my ride again. Had them on my G37 last winter I took them off and have pilot alpins back on there now. 200% better. I will never never never get thoses crap tires again. I did not even sell them. I took a knife to the sidewall and took them to the dump. Not kidding one bit. Worst tire I ever had on my rides.
