Custom Switches?

i've been googling for a bit, but, can't seem to find a place that'll make custom switches...........

what i'm looking to do is get a switch(es) that'll fit into the OEM panel underneath the steering wheel where the VDC, etc. switches are. in addition to that, i wanted something custom written in there for my accessories.

i can find a generic one online from a couple of places, but, can't really find measurements of those to know if they'll work - i'm guessing that the Nissan switches are rather standard sizewise and not a one-off job for Nissan/Infiniti, but, who knows? lol

any advice/direction/etc??
 
I'd use an oe switch personally, sand the face down, it'll be all white & all light up, then stencil out what you want the switch to have on the face, spray black over the stencil then remove, then satin clear... if it's done cleanly it can look oem, light up oem & everything...
 
you know.......that never crossed my mind lol. that's a really great solution. only problem really would be the wiring - basically just because it's on/off only needed.

where would i find the stencils?

EDIT: i've always wondered how that was done........
 
I used a regular on/off switch for my Nav mod.. With the right tools me and bill made it possible to placed it where you want to install yours.. There is a thread with pictures on how we did it...

i bought the 07 panel with 5 slots in it so i could place my switches there. i guess the look that i'm really going for is "custom stock." something where you know it's different, but, don't know if it was a factory option or not...... plus, i'm a big fan of keeping it neat and quiet.

that is a doable option, but, i want to it to be an actual illuminated switch that looks like it was built for it. my only problem is that my ideas surpass my abilities lol. which i'm fine with because if that weren't the case, i'd be turbocad jr. and who really has the time and patience for that sort of title and responsibility?:biggrin:

I did the same, got the newer panel... I too would just want it to look stock or like it belongs that way to anyone who didn't know any better...
 
i actually have one of those rocker switches BK. what i'm trying to find is a switch that'll snap into place in the panel (no modifying required) and be illuminated to say "NAV DVD" or something like that instead of just being a plain switch face.

i think turbo definitely has the best and cheapest solution in using OEM switches. they're exactly the size i want obviously. the tough part is getting them done.
