2010 Infiniti FX
The 2010 FX is available with a choice of a 390-horsepower 5.0-liter 32-valve DOHC V8 engine with VVEL (Variable Valve Event & Lift) or with a 303-horsepower 3.5-liter 24-valve DOHC V6. Inside, the FX interior provides a warm, modern, inviting environment highlighted by a driver-oriented cockpit with intuitive controls, available sport seating and advanced audio, navigation and technology ranging from an 11-speaker Bose®-developed audio system to Infiniti Intelligent Key, available Intelligent Cruise Control (Full Speed Range) and available Around View Monitor system.

The 2010 FX is available in three models: FX50 AWD with 5.0-liter V8, FX35 AWD with 3.5-liter V6 and FX35 RWD with 3.5-liter V6. It goes on sale in fall 2009.

Changes for 2010 include:

  • Revised option package selection and content
  • Standard Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System (standard on all models)
  • Addition of USB Connection Port with Infiniti Interface System for iPod® (all models)
  • Addition of 2GB Music Box hard drive to the Bose® Premium Audio system on vehicles without the Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation system
  • Addition of Bluetooth® Streaming Audio, XM NavWeather® and Zagat® Restaurant Guide features to the Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation system (XM® subscription required, sold separately)
  • Simplified exterior/interior color combinations

I think they should remove the Compact Flash drive. Who the heck uses that? And it's an ugly piece of plastic on the lower stack.

I used it on my recent 3,500 miles trip. I do not have an iPod and not a subscriber of XM. The CF drive gave me the option of music for the entire trip. Not a lot of features but it was OK.

NAV upgrade ?

I was at my dealer today (for a car wash) and I asked the sales person that exact question: Would the '09 Nav be upgradable to the new versions with weather, updated graphics, etc. He doesn't know yet, but expects the answer to be 'Yes' since it is a software based system.

More to come...

I hope this is right. I have a feeling it isn't from what I heard elsewhere from a sales rep.

But I think he thought I meant the musicbox upgrade and Bluetooth imput upgrade. I didn't.

I just meant the graphics, weather and zagat stuff.
