Will this remote key work?

I used to have one of these style keys when I had my Volkswagen and I have always hated the fact that Nissan/Infiniti has the separate key and remote.

This thing seems like it would give me back the convenience of my vw key but I just want to know how hard it would be to get the blade cut like my key and get the little chip paired like the listing says.

If nobody knows I may just bite the bullet and get one and see how much it runs me all together.

I was looking at one of those but in a switchblade style. I posted it here and didnt get any feedback but when i researched on google, i found that many people had issues with programming the key by the dealer, resulting in not being able to start the car.

It should. I think the require you to remove the internals of the OEM keypad and place it in the unit. But not sure what they do about the chip inside the ket head.

that's what i was thinking too. i have to go to the dealer tomorrow so I'll ask if it's something they can do.

I just moved to Rochester, NY and there's only 1 Infiniti dealer here as opposed to Phoenix where I used to live and had the luxury of choosing between 5. 1 of which was VERY mod friendly.

well i called a locksmith and he quoted me $60 for cutting a key and programming the chip.
Seems like B.S.
I'm going to call the dealer today.

is he a high end locksmith? I would think he needs a "special" programmer for the iKey.

let us know what happens

* I just realized something... you have a 06, dont they all come with keyless entry/start ? (ikey) . please educate me . thanks !

Willow Grove infiniti told me $110 for just the programming.

oh wow, i thought he was messing with me.
still though, this whole thing is going to cost close to 100, not sure i want to spend that just to get rid of the fob.

Why can't I just pull the disable chip out of my current key and wedge it somewhere in this thing?

that's what all the guys over on G35driver.com are doing when they mod their mazda, vw, and audi key fobs.
