Shouldnt the outsides hit first due to toe-out when it's up in the air?
Not that any of this discussion means anything :err:

Ya, I think you are right, the outside hits first, and then as the springs compress, it actually makes the tires move outward also, so the outside seems stretched, while the inside is bulgy. Either way, it goes away once you get moving.
It's not important, but it does help the post count.

Ya . . that's what happens & should happen . . . . post 5814

Just drove through a crazy rain storm tonight in Chicago with my 265/40/22 Hankook's. I've said this before, but have to say it again -- like riding on rails and stops on a dime!

I bought some Goodyears for my other set and kind of wish I bought the Hankooks again... but time to try a new tire.

BTW -- RH06's are great in snow (compared to other all-seasons).

But I only wanted dry! I must be giving up something then.
I havent really been able to give them a full heat cycle yet, so I cannot really review, but they grip OK. My Scorps were more responsive, but then again, they were broken in. All new tires feel a bit floaty when new, so these are no exception. They dont squeal or anything, but I do notice they slide a bit when I got on them hard. Hoping it gets better.

Reppin for vancouver...
rh06 for me...
Lucky for me, the fx had a set of them on when i bought it back on Dec. 30.08 (great day), Practically brand new too. I love em, partly cause they grip great in wet/dry (cause it's usually a mix of that everyday here) and they actually did verrry well in the snow too. The beast got me through some nasty blizzard conditions on the way up to whistler this year, a few times and they look friggin sweet.

Plus, the price point, not bad at all.

Cheers folks,
j

ps. been meaning to post some updated pix of the ride, but been busy as heck. Still stock, but some cool scenic shots.

Hi GTO -- what's the long term review so far on the Hankook Ventus ST RH06?

Easy to balance?

Tire noise?

Traction?

Longer/shorter/meets expectations in tire wear?

Aesthetics?

Easy to balance? Hit it right on the first spin. All 4 still roll smoothly, so . . yes

Tire noise?
Still as quiet as day one

Traction?
As good as an all season's gonna get I think. They're very predictable. They need some warming up though. They tend to slide a bit when it's cold, so I have to hold back on the power until they build up some heat. Cant comment on snow, & it rarely rains here. But for the dry, they work well

Longer/shorter/meets expectations in tire wear? The're wearing quicker than I thought they would. Rubber is on the softer side yet the sidewalls are nice & stiff. I tend to go hard on them & that's the reason why. A tire shouldnt break the bank, & these dont, so not worried about burning them up.

Aesthetics? Prettier than most out there. Good aggresive pattern

I will wear these again when the time comes. Excellent value w/ no shortcomings

Thanks to everyone that gave input to help find the right tire for me :smile (2):

Nice, that is my experience too. Just wanted a non-biased review from someone who did their homework. I'll add that in snow they work very well due to the deep thread (as long as you have some thread left!) and rain, the V-grooves have good escape routes and feels like it's on rails. The Toyo Proxies V1 don't have good escape routes for water, hence sliding and some poorer reviews.

bought my fx in march 07 which came with brand new toyo proxes st II tires... still running them... rides great in dry and wet... not too good in the snow but with AWD not too bad. tread wear finally running low so im in the market for some sneaks too... my next set is the "hankook ventus st rh06" glad i found this thread.:smile (2):
