how to tell if it's Awd??

look under the FX near the transmission. they should be a transfer case, awd has this and rwd will just be connected to a drive shaft.
Also from the transfer case a front drive shaft will be present.

there is no special badging .... but if its a fx45, it s AWD for sure

There would also be a "SNOW" button by your left knee if it was AWD.

Is this true? I thought I saw a SNOW button in the FX, but I thought my wife's FX was only RWD. I'm gonna check in a bit.

I just checked. I have a 2006 sport package with SNOW mode... I check the original sticker and it says RWD.

There is no way to tell between 35's just from outer physical appearance while driving on the road. And a snow button is not indicative of an AWD system.

I have an 06 FX35 AWD. AWD light comes on for a few seconds on the dashboard when I start the car and when I turn the key to on position.
