What did you trade in to get your FX?

I traded my 2002 Mercedes E55 AMG. I had 112K miles on it when I got my FX45. I got rid of the E55 because of Mercedes poor build quailty issues like leaking valve covers, instrument panel digital read out pixilate and goes out, horrible gas mileage, bad motor mount, and a potential AC heater core problem. I fixed most problems myself using information from the Mercede forums, but the fun factor of the AMG's hand built engine got old after replacing some expensive parts seemly once a year after I hit the 80K mile mark. The E55 was hella fast and handles like a dream as long as the road was dry because the rear-end will break loose if you loss traction on the rear tires ,which was easy with 390 ft-lbs of torque on wet pavement. The FX45 seems only a tick slower and handles nearly the same on dry roads ;better on wet roads. I got my F45 with 60k miles and have put 49K miles on it in the last three years of owning it. It was like love at first site when I saw my FX45 at the dealership because I have always wanted a FX45, but I was never able to find a FX45 used in my area until I found this one with low miles. I gave up my E55 keys and the rest is history.

Great story. I have been admiring W124 500Es for a long time. Talk about being hand built. :good:

I've always been told the AMG models were better built but u have to pay AMG tax on replacement parts. Little surprised u stated the fx handled fairly close to ur E55.

Oh ok def concentrate looking for the S model then, thanks Wayne
Good luck Oscar, There are tons of black ones for sale but very few white, or silver S models around my area for sale. I have a few Dealers around here looking for me.

Originally a silver 2003 Jeep Liberty Renegade edition for a 2004 fx35 AWD touring, totaled that one and got a 2007 fx35 sport both are dg, first one willow, second one charcoal

I had an 04 bmw M3. I sold it because it no longer fit into my "life". I needed something bigger so i can transport the mountain bike to and from trails, haul the motorcycle and carry softball equipment. As much as i loved the M3, it was not able to do all of those things.
