Anyone heard of ZTek before?

Searched the G35 and 350Z sites without much useful feedback other that "its ebay = its cheap". If that is the case then my kakuemei is cheap sh*t too. I found that product to be very high quality and well worth the money. I found the ZTek setup on ebay, and it actually has a pretty nice sound to it. Its also quite affordable. Anyone ever had any luck or experience with their stuff?

well I do have to say 1. the titanium tips look awesome 2. the sound doesn't sound bad on their website but 3. according to their website, they only have exhaust for the FX35 listed.
I wish I could get those tips on the Invidia or HKS. I still have to pick out an exhaust and I haven't made my decision yet.

The fx35 and fx45 exhausts are the same.

It sounds and looks great. Maybe the cat back design on the pipes are flawed, but what if you just install the axle back muffler? Will there still be the soot problem on right side only?

Yes, because it's the path through the muffler that creates the unequal flow, the y and mid are just straight through pipes exactly like your stock system.

I'll pop in on this thread, just for the record.

Several years ago, I purhased the Z-tek catalytic converters, y-pipe, mid pipe, and muffler.

The catalytic converters were the first part to go. The welds opened up around the bulging portion of the catalytic converter, so I removed these and threw some test pipes in to get by.

Next, the welds where the three pipes come together on the y-pipe started to break apart. This happened so quickly that the whole y-pipe came apart at that junction. I have since replaced this y-pipe with the Kakumei with no problems (at least 2 years ago).

As far as the mid pipe and exhaust go, they have not fallen apart yet, but I wouldn't hesitate to get rid of them if the right opportunity arose. I'm also really glad I didn't go with their headers, I bet those would have lasted less than 6 months.

I did also e-mail Ztek about getting these replaced, but never heard back. In the long run, I would not have put these back on my car even if they had sent me replacements.

This is roughly the same story with the Megan products - I just took off a warped set of headers last weekend, and the test pipes I had were a joke (O2 sensor bungs actually fell off).

I have the Z-tek midpipe with my kakumei y pipe and hks rear. No complaints and sounds great. Midpipes are pretty simple. I have read about complaints with the muffler though.
