TPMS Sensor

Hey guys,

This is my first post in this forum. I just got my 09 FX50 At the beginning of December and so far loving it!!!
I just changed my wheels, switched my winter aftermarket Black Chrome 20's to the original 21' Enkei's. I'm not too sure if I need to go back to the dealership to reset the TPMS sensors, b/c I'm not getting any reading on the on-borad CPU. Would any of you guys know why this is?
I'd appreciate any advice from anyone, please.

Happy to be here!:.smile:

Do you have sensors on both sets of wheels? And did you have the dealer reprogram them after you changed out to the winter wheels? If so, then yea you will have to have them reprogrammed again.

And welcome to the Scene!

Tpms

I do have sensors on both sets of wheels. The dealer did reprogram them when the after market wheels were slapped on. I guess I have to return to the dealer to get them reprogrammed then. Do you guys know if they charge for reprogramming the TPMS sensors?

Thanks!!:.smile:

What happens when you have 2 sets of TPMS, is when one is sync'd with the car the other set becomes unsync'd. So each time you swap wheels you'll need to resync (or reprogram them) at the dealer.

They shouldn't charge you to resync them, at least they didn't for me. Make sure they get it right though as nothing is more annoying that returning 2 times to get them fixed

Thats really dependent on the Dealer. Some will charge you, and some wont. It just depends on the rapport you have with the dealership. If anything you can always take it to a Nissan dealer and they will do it for a lil cheaper.

Welcome to iS! They might charge you labor to reset the TPMS, or just have a flat fee.

I use those $29.99 coupons to rotate the tires and ask them to make sure the TPMS are re-synced (the order is different when you swap starting from the top).

So far I've been getting "free" syncs.

I'm not sure if anyone has covered this, but there's a tool called ATEQ QuickSet, it lets you switch between winter and summer sets at a press of a button. Just a brief summary of how it works, you program it using your PC and then plug it into your OBD2 plug, then press the corresponding button for the set of wheels you want. You will need to know the serial numbers off each TPMS sensor to program each set. Why waste time going to the dealer?

So I finally went today to get my tpms reprogrammed for the winter rims but they told me they could not get them to sync. So now I need to get new sensors for my 08 FX. What is the model number for them and where can I get a good deal for all four?
