I have a 07 FX35 without navigation, is there a way to incorporate a stock navigation unit to the existing unit? or should i just go buy one of those tom tom gps systems?

factory setup no, but since you have the color screen you can add a navtv & then get a stand alone vga type nav system & have it display on the factory screen. expensive way to go but nicest too... sticking a little tomtom type thing on the windshied is always an option, depends how nice you want it & how much work your willing to do:smile:

Can I use the same screen???

What do you mean by add a navtv?

I can keep my same screen in there or no? If not, will i need to get the whole bavigation system or can I just buy a color screen and get an aftermarket navigation system.

This place AV Electronics has spme good products. 1 of which I will implement in my FX.

No you cannot do as turbocad suggested for the OP since he has a 07 FX with a color screen but you 04 FX if it did not come with the oem navigation then you undoubtedly have the orange screen. If you want navigation then you will either have to replace the oem screen with a color screen and add a separate navigation unit or add a double din head unit with navigation or add a garmin or tomtom like navi.

OK so i cant do the navtv thing and my only options are to either switch my non-nav unit in the vehicle and get a nav unit and installe it or buy those ugly tomtom or garmin gps

No, YOU can do the add on because you have an '07. The guy with the '04 who budged in to your topic cannot. GARMIN GVN-53 is what you want, a guy on the ORG did that to get the color screen to display aftermarket nav.

if you really want a great nav then look at alpine's unit. voice controlled, great remote & one of the best nav systems out there, better than most oem's...

something like this is the ultimate:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BRAND-NEW-ALPINE-NVE-N872A-DVD-ROM-NAVIGATION-GPS-L-K_W0QQitemZ140309887324QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Audio_Video?hash=item20ab1ef95c&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

even the older ones are very decent & better than most factory navs, but latest map data may be limited, I'd check with alpine for an updated disc if available, something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Alpi...c0.m245&_trkparms=72:1171|65:12|39:1|240:1318

not voice controlled, also not touchscreen compatable but that itself is not an issue for you as you won't be able to take advantage of the touchscreen with the stock lcd...

I'm not necissarily recommending any of those sellers, just to show you what's out there, search for those part #'s ...

i have an 05 fx w/o navi and i was just wondering which apline system that will fit in the oem headunit and relocate the orange screen to where the clock is.

depends, if your only concern is nav then a unit like that & an alpine touchscreen or a screen to display it can be installed easily in the stock screen location. if you want the screen to do more than just nav though & you want it to take the place of the factory entertainment & add multimedia capabilities, then you could do as above & add alpines hub system to it, or do like viet done & install a complete double din head up there, more fabrication to get it to fit & look good though...
