Help!! Autolocks gone bonkers!!

HI guys,
i am in a bit of a panic right now because my car all of a sudden won't stay LOCKED...after i leave the car and lock it either with the key or with the remote in about 5 minutes sometimes much less it just unlocks itself,even when i am driving i can hear it clicking even though its already unlocked itself..called the dealer and he wants me to bring it back to toronto to fix it,but thats 2 hrs away,but in the meantime i cant take my car anywhere,cuz it might not be there after i park it...A buddy told me to disconnect the battery terminals for a while and maybe the computer will reset itself,does anyone know if this will work or can offer any other suggestions? and yes the battery in the remote is a good battery...
 
could be a possible shorted door lock switch? play with the doorlock switches & see if it stops or if any feel funny? long shot but a first thought & something I'd look at while scratching my head at least :)....
 
I had a similar problem about a month ago. I would press the lock/unlock button on the driver side door and it would lock the doors and immidiately unlock it. However, it I tried this from the passenger side, it would stay locked.

I figured there was something wrong with the button, but I was wrong. I started using my other fob and it does not do this. Mine had to do with the Key Fob. Have you tried using your other one?

Hey guys thanks for the replies,tried the both the battery thing and the passenger lock suggestions ans neither of them worked,my car is still unlocking itself CONSTANTLY including while driving...very frustrating..gonna have to take time to drive to toronto or just take it to infiniti..any other suggestions would be VERY welcome thanks
 
UPDATE..i called the dealer today and made an appointment to go to toronto to get this and a few other problems with my FX resolved and he gives me a # to call "his electronics guy" to book the appointment to take it to HIS shop to get fixed,why he would not call the guy himself i don't know,but i want my ride fixed so i didn't fuss,i call this guy and explain the situation and he says to me "you need a new computer,your computer is screwed up,and i dont have one for your car you are gonna have to tell (the dealer) to call me so he can have someone bring me a computer to put in your car"...whatever dude..i call back the dealer and he has stepped out...i just spoke to this guy not 5 minutes ago but he's out now..i get the feeling this is gonna get REAL ugly...BUT...i have an amusing story to share so i will post in a new thread..

New UPDATE 30/09 driving home tonight in a torrential downpour and all of a sudden my highbeams come on and my hazards come on and neither of them would shut off..when i shut the car off,as soon as the interior lights go off the highbeams would come on WITH THE CAR OFF!!...had to take the battery lead off so my battery wouldn't run down,put it back on to see if the quirkiness stopped,nope and a new problem ,now the wipers are going and wont shut off either,i have got some MAJOR electrical problem...i cant even drive this to work tomorrow,i am gonna have to take the bus..this fucking sucks ass....

Update..

Just picked up my FX from toronto,its been there since saturday getting some stuff fixed as per my previous post..got new front rotors,and it rides MUCH MUCH nicer...got the a/c fixed,and the door lock problem is fixed but here is what they did...they disconnected the factory security system and installed an aftermarket security system(i'm sure its a cheapie) which now locks and unlocks the doors,all fine an dandy,but the problem is no more courtesy lights or flashing signals or headlights when unlocked,and if while driving i lock the doors from the new remote, if i forget to unlock it before i get out the alarm goes off...when the kids are in the car i ALWAYS have the doors locked,gonna have to remember to unlock them before i get out now..cd player is still not fixed...one thing i found really appalling was how readily the dealer was to take parts from other FXs he had to put on my car,jeez i wonder how many he took off mine before i bought it..he took the computer out of an 05 fx to put in mine til they found out that my car wouldn't start with that computer,he pulled out the cd player to put in mine and because that fx had nav it wouldn't work,he took a battery cover out of that one and put in mine...so i finally convinced him to let me order one from the infiniti dealership 2 blocks from my house so i dont have to drive back to toronto,he agreed to buy it,but doesn't want to pay the labour to put it in..we'll see..i'm just happy to have my car back i missed it so much,and driving that Chrysler 300 really made me appreciate what a fabulous ride my FX is :biggrin:.. sorry about the long post guys.. just wanted to update the ppl who wish me luck wth the repairs..thanks

Is this at a dealer???????? I mustve missed your other post.......
 
I'm glad your fx got partialy fixed.. But why aftermarket parts?? Why not original? Why didn't you take it to a original infiniti dealership??
 
Well the dealer asked me to give him an opportunity to fix the problems first,if not then i can take it to an infiniti dealership myself and he would look after it,well this was his first attempt,and to his credit,except for the door lock thing and the cd player,so far he seems to have taken care of all that i asked him to...just the 2hr drive each way there and back is a killer,when there is an infiniti dealership 2 minutes from my house,dude's problem is he don't mind paying for the parts,he does not wanna pay the labour when he has a shop and mechanics that he pays...so far he has not been a dick,so i am just chilling...but i still LOVE my FX!!!..:biggrin:
