60k Maintenance - do it yourself or pay ??

Debating if I should do this myself or pay, what would you choose?

Need some suggestions.

OMG!

I only see 3-4 things that they actually replace or refill. Everything else is check and inspect this and that.

I opted out to do 90% of stuff that was included in the 30k mile maint. because it was mostly check/inspect this and that. I did what I only felt I needed and only cost me $100 bucks (transmission fluid service). I just told them to do certain things. I did the other stuff like oil change at a local shop where they only charge a fraction of what the dealer would charge me.

My dealer had a similar list, but I opted to just do the transmission service, differential service, and coolant. It was just over 300. Decided to do the coolant at the very last minute.

Is the oil change really only $35? I have been thinking about doing my own oil to save money, and switch to Mobil 1. But it sounds like I will only be spending more.

If you're using Mobil 1 then it will be more than $35. I think a local shop in my area charges around $30 (for my company car) but for my Jaguar, using Mobil 1 synthetic (and the Jag always uses 2 extra quarts) it's around $75, I'm drawing a blank on the cost for my FX45 right now...

Man that is about the most insane 60,000 service charge I have ever seen! If they'd include all 4 of the "recommended services" in that package then I would do it.

*Well I guess they gotta sell you something since they're not selling any cars.

I pay $35 bucks for 6qt of mobil 1 oil from local Costco. Another $8-$10 for mobil 1 filter. And I did the labor myself recently. It will cost you more than $35 for an oil change

Probably $70 is what you'll end up paying a shop to do an oil change with synthetic oil

^^ +1
I think $35 for a regular oil change plus taxes and fees brings it to just over $40.
Thats about the same price for 5 quarts of Mobil1 and a Mobil1 oil filter (not on sale)

Plus, you can sign up for the Mobil1 Rewards program and get $5 for every six quarts purchased.

FYI, Walmart sells Mobil 1 in the 5 qt. jug, and its less than $24 with tax. They don't have filters though. I need somewhere good for that. Plus I've also printed off a $10 off Mobil 1 coupon. Just have to mail it in with the receipt. I will have to do Mobil1 Rewards also.

Sweet! Guess I'll have to stop by Wally World soon.
Every now and then I'll find some really good deals at the local auto parts stores. One time I picked up 5 quarts and a filter at Pep Boys for $29 plus $5 rebate. Never did the rebate though...

i just read this article. and to be honest if you pay me $50 right now i'll check your FX out just as good as they will.

um
DONE!!!

im coming up on 60k miles for my 04 fx45, do you guys think its recommended to do all those fluid flushes for a 5yr old car? filters and oil i did myself.

im talking about transmission, brakes, power steering, radiator....am i missing anything?

I am going to Infiniti tomorrow also for 60k service. Last time I was in there they mentioned the belts needed replacement as they were cracking, but I can't see that yet. Scare tactic I guess.
I will see about the trans flush and am definitely doing the wheel alignment before I get my new Yokohams shoes.

belts are cheap and easy to do yourself. . . see how much the dealer wants.
